About the job

Would you like to help Danish and foreign internet companies settle VAT correctly in the VAT One Stop Shop, so they can run their business quickly and efficiently? Would you like to be part of an experienced VAT-focused team where we verify that international internet companies report VAT correctly? Then you might be one of our new colleagues for our unit in Frederikssund

Societally important task

Denmark has in 2024 received 6.3 billion DKK and in 2025 received 7.1 billion DKK in revenue via the VAT One Stop Shop from foreign internet companies selling to Danish consumers. The increasing cross-border e-commerce creates an increased need to monitor the international internet companies.

There are 185,0000 companies registered in the scheme in the EU, and it covers all types of businesses from large companies to smaller enterprises. In the VAT One Stop Shop, the control covers companies established in Denmark, the EU and third countries.

The assignment has a good interplay between VAT and accounting issues in relation to e-commerce, and it is a area where legislation and technology are developing rapidly. Therefore your professional knowledge will naturally develop continuously. At the same time, it is an important societal task that helps ensure equal conditions for consumers and businesses that trade on the internet.

Tasks

We work with the control of Danish and foreign internet companies that sell goods, services or electronically supplied services, e.g. streaming services or online games to Danish consumers.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • conduct controls of Danish and foreign companies registered for the VAT One Stop Shop
  • communicate with the companies and their representatives
  • select relevant control cases based on risk and materiality analyses
  • have contact with tax authorities in other EU countries in connection with the control of the registered companies
  • prepare case summaries and make decisions.

Daily life offers a mix of substantial independence, professional sparring and collaboration with colleagues, just as you actively participate in the ongoing development of our processes and methods.

Multiple approaches to the job

You have experience in VAT, accounting, auditing and law. You work systematically and persistently, understand complex issues, prioritize sharply, can assess when a case is sufficiently illuminated, and you are a skilled communicator.

You have a relevant education such as HD-R, cand.merc.aud. tax auditor, professional bachelor in tax, cand.merc.jur. or similar. It is an advantage if you have several years of relevant professional experience in VAT, accounting, customs, forwarding or the like.

To succeed in the job, it is important that you

  • have a positive attitude
  • can make professional decisions on a well-founded basis
  • work in a structured way with your tasks
  • have an eye for digital development on the internet
  • can maintain an overview in pressured situations and in cases with long durations or tight deadlines
  • thrive in an environment where good collaboration skills and knowledge sharing are highly valued
  • can communicate clearly and understandably in writing and speaking in both Danish and English.

Welcome to us

You join a strong VAT-focused team of 20 employees, where we strive for high quality, and where your ideas to develop the area will be heard. With us you get both challenging tasks and room for professional deepening. We are proud of our high professionalism, which we constantly develop collectively.

The good result is inseparably linked to our work environment.

We place great emphasis on well-being, inclusivity and an informal tone, where there is always room for humor. We respect our differences and work together as a team. In addition, we offer a flexible everyday life with a good balance between work and private life, so you can shape and structure your workday yourself

In the start-up period we focus on your onboarding. There is an introduction program where you are introduced to our systems and tasks based on your concrete needs.

The workplace is Kilde Allé 16, 3600 Frederikssund. We are right next to the station, so it is incredibly easy to get to and from the office by public transport. If you commute by car, you also have the great advantage that you drive against the flow of the busiest commuter traffic out of Copenhagen – it means less traffic and more free time.
