About the job

Would you like to help develop and secure the Armed Forces' future BI solutions – and set the direction for how data supports better decision-making?

The Defence is in the midst of an exciting digital development where data and digitalization are becoming increasingly important. We are therefore seeking a curious and engaged SAP Business Intelligence technical developer, who will help drive, develop and modernize our BI platform.

You will play a central role in the development of the Defence's Business Intelligence function and will work with both the existing platform and the technological possibilities that will take us further.

About us

The Cyber Division in the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organization (FMI) is responsible for operating, maintaining and developing the Armed Forces' IT, as well as supporting digitalization across the Danish Ministry of Defence's group.

We are about 720 employees – roughly one third military and two thirds civilian – and are thus among the larger IT organizations in the public sector.

You will become part of DeMars Business Intelligence section, which consists of 6 full-time employees and in addition external IT consultants.

We work in task-oriented teams, where employees have a strong influence on how tasks are solved and prioritized. We place emphasis on professionalism, knowledge sharing and strong cross-collaboration.

About the position

The cornerstone of our BI landscape is an Enterprise Data Warehouse solution based on SAP BW/4HANA, while the frontend is managed among others through SAP Business Objects. We also use Celonis and work with new possibilities within analytics.

The Defence is also on a journey toward SAP S/4HANA, which will affect our future data and BI landscape.

You will among other things

  • Develop and maintain our SAP-based BI solutions
  • Work with backend, data and technical solutions
  • Plan and carry out development tasks and projects
  • Contribute to architecture, documentation and technical governance
  • Advise, collaborate and share knowledge with colleagues and suppliers.

You will be responsible for your own tasks and projects and have the opportunity to help set the technological direction.

About you

We imagine you have a higher education in IT, technology, economics, HR or another relevant field.

The most important is not what your education is called, or whether you know all our technologies from the start. We especially value that you:

  • Have a good technical and analytical understanding
  • Work independently and in a structured manner
  • Are curious and motivated to learn new things
  • Can translate complex issues into usable solutions
  • Thrives with responsibility and collaboration.

Experience with SAP BI, BW/4HANA, Business Objects, SAP Analytics, Celonis, AI, machine learning or general BI is an advantage but not a requirement. In addition, it would be an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have previously participated in an SAP transformation process. The most important is your drive to learn and translate new knowledge into practice.

You must be able to communicate in Danish in writing and speech, and be able to read and understand technical English.

Employment terms

If you are an academic, you are hired under the applicable agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state (Academic Agreement).

If you have an office education or another relevant education, you are hired under the applicable Joint Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organizations – The Civil Service Area (OAO-S Joint Agreement) and the staff agreement for office clerks, laboratory technicians and IT employees.

Depending on your qualifications and competences, there is possibility for negotiation of a supplement. There is an employer-funded pension scheme associated with the position.

Workplace is in Ballerup.

As an employee within the Ministry of Defence area, you are subject to certain special terms. You must be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout the employment.

As an employee you are obliged to perform service outside the country's borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict prevention, peacekeeping, peace enforcement, humanitarian and other similar operations.

Contact and application

If you want to hear more about the position, you are welcome to contact section head Jens Roselio Nordahn at telephone 2422 5248.

If you have questions about salary and terms of employment, you are welcome to contact the Personnel Command, HR consultant Mia Backhausen at telephone 3266 5574.

Application deadline is 27 October 2026 and interviews are expected to be held on an ongoing basis.

The position is to be filled on 1 January 2027.

You apply for the position via the link, and we ask you to attach your application, CV and copies of your diplomas. Please note that attachments must be uploaded in PDF format.
