About the job
Headteacher for Bramdrup School
Kolding Municipality seeks an experienced and engaged headteacher for Bramdrup School with a start date of December 1, 2026.
Bramdrup School is a large and diverse school with a strong professional foundation and a clear local anchoring. Now we are seeking the headteacher who will lead Bramdrup School and the continued development.
You will have responsibility for a school with approximately 580 pupils from 0th to 9th grade, a special center with about 55 pupils, and a staff group with different professional backgrounds and competencies. It gives a diverse school where diversity and inclusion are among our strongest assets.
Bramdrup School’s ambition is to be the natural first choice for families in the district.
Bramdrup School
Bramdrup School is located in a strong and engaged local area with an active community around the school. Parents and the school board are engaged, and the school has a close collaboration with the local community. We also see potential in strengthening the school’s position in the district and cooperation with local associations and other partners.
The school has good physical facilities and outdoor areas, which are continuously improved in collaboration with the local community. We have, among other things, Spacenet, a crossfit training area, a music playground, a play tower and a swing area, as well as a Makerspace with digital and analog tools.
You will join a school where a strong professional foundation has been created. The task is to build on what works, and at the same time take the next development steps.
An important focus will be to create coherence across the general education area, the special education area, and the after-school program (SFO) and get the school’s various professional strengths to work together. You must have an eye for the core task, be able to prioritize clearly and create ownership around the direction you set. At the same time you must know when to listen and involve, and when to make a decision.
Your leadership task
You will become part of a four-member leadership team. As headteacher you have overall responsibility for the school’s direction and development and at the same time leadership responsibility for a department or an area.
You must be able to step forward clearly, set direction and lead from the front when the situation requires it. At the same time you must lead through leaders, be close to practice and remain calm in the complexity of leading a school with both a general education area and a special education area.
In your leadership you are open and transparent, and you can make decisions and stand by them. You know when to listen and involve, and when to make a decision.
You have an eye for what requires leadership attention, and what is best solved close to practice and professional expertise.
You will join a stable and skilled staff group with different competencies and a common view of children. There is a focus on structure, clarity and well-being as well as constructive collaboration with staff, union representatives, MED (Co-ordination/Body), the school board and parents.
Who are you?
We expect that
- You are a trained teacher and have leadership experience , including experience with personnel management and leading a department or area.
- You have a strong pedagogical and didactic foundation and a view for children's learning, well-being and formation as well as for developing professional learning communities based on the core task.
- You communicate clearly and build relationships and followership across students, staff, parents and partners.
- You can navigate in a diverse school and meet different cultural backgrounds with curiosity, respect and integrity.
- You have an eye for the school’s operations and economy and can maintain an overview when priorities must be set and decisions made.
A strong headteacher community
As headteacher you will be both the leader of Bramdrup School and part of Kolding Municipality’s overall school system. Here you get sparring, knowledge sharing and support from your fellow headteachers and you also contribute to the development of the school area as a whole.
Kolding Municipality has 21 public schools and 3 special schools. The school area is built on a shared view of children and young people with focus on equal opportunities, community, learning and well-being.
