About the job

Would you like to be part of the Health and Elderly Department in Ikast-Brande Municipality and lead the section Nursing Homes and Short-Term Places? Are you passionate about working in an area where generosity in collaboration, closeness, dignity, and community are the foundation? Do you find motivation in developing strong relationships across the organization and in interaction with civil society? Then it is you we are looking for as section head as of January 1, 2027.

You will join an ambitious leadership group in Health and Elderly, which is action- and development-oriented and places a high value on common success and cross-sectional collaboration. You will become part of a leadership community where we lean on each other and prioritise collaboration across sections. We therefore expect you to actively collaborate and see the value in joint solutions to benefit the citizens.

As section head you will play a central role in the development and operation of nursing homes, short-term placements and day care in Ikast-Brande Municipality. We are seeking a presence-driven leader who is close to the six local managers, employees, citizens, relatives and actors in civil society – and who with sincere interest and engagement in the individual sites is able to balance operations, development and financial accountability.

One focus area is that you, in close cooperation with the rest of the department, work to translate the Elderly Act’s values of self-determination, trust and a strong interaction with relatives, local communities and civil society into local practice.

Another important focus area is to develop the municipal short-term placements and ensure that a strong and well-functioning collaboration is built in the Close Health Care. It requires that you can work structurally with operations while also keeping a focus on the long-term strategic perspective.

Your role

As section head you will have a central position, where you

  • ensure dignity in meeting with citizens
  • support and develop a strong collaboration with relatives and civil society
  • ensure high professional quality with a basis in person-centered care
  • have responsibility for budget compliance, sick leave and financial management
  • be part of a strong leadership community with a focus on collaboration and sparring
  • be close to operations and prioritise regular, presence-based sparring with local managers
  • contribute to the development of the Health and Elderly Department in both the short and long term
  • actively contribute to the further development of the Close Health Care

We are looking for a section head who

  • has a relevant health professional education supplemented with a leadership education
  • has solid leadership experience and the ability to gain followers in a large and complex leadership area with several professional disciplines. It is an advantage if you have experience leading leaders
  • is a visible and present leader who thrives on being close to day-to-day tasks
  • has an eye for both operations and development, and can work with the long-term perspective
  • has strong collaboration skills and actively contributes to the community
  • is focused on creating good processes for citizens – “we do it for Gerda”
  • understands how to navigate a municipal and politically governed organization and can translate strategies and political visions into concrete actions and initiatives in daily operations
