Do you want to use your expertise and drive to strengthen Ukraine's food and agriculture sector, in the midst of a complex reality?

The position is for someone who has solid experience from the food or agriculture sector in Denmark, is robust and can work independently in a security-challenging context and is motivated by creating progress through close cooperation with authorities.

You will be placed at the Danish embassy in Kyiv, where you will act as a liaison between the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA), the Embassy and partner authorities in Ukraine.

You will play a central role in the Danish-Ukrainian authority cooperation on food and agriculture. The cooperation should strengthen Ukraine's legal framework and institutional capacity and support the country's adaptation to the EU's requirements. The efforts include among other things food and feed safety, animal health and welfare, veterinary control, plant health and sustainable solutions in agriculture.

Your tasks include coordinating and supporting the implementation of project activities, following up on progress and results, and ensuring close and trusting cooperation with Ukrainian and Danish partners. You will among other things contribute to planning and carrying out delegation visits, meetings, workshops and professional activities.

You must build and maintain networks among authorities, international actors as well as Danish investors and companies within the food and agriculture sector. You will also contribute to coherence with the embassy's other efforts and the broader Danish engagement in Ukraine.

The position requires that you can quickly engage in the tasks and work independently in a changing and security-demanding context.

Conditions of employment

As Sector Advisor you will be employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, placed at the Danish embassy in Kyiv and form part of the embassy staff. You will receive a fixed-term appointment from the date of deployment. The deployment period will typically be two years.

Salary and employment terms follow the AC agreement in the state sector and the applicable terms as set out in the job profile. It is a condition for employment that you obtain a security clearance. First-aid, HEAT and driving courses as well as psychological screening are mandatory for the selected candidate.

Kyiv is an exciting but also challenging workplace. The security situation is variable and sets the framework for both work and private life. The position is a non-family post, and family or partner cannot be brought. After management approval, a partner and family may receive one annual MFA-paid visit according to the applicable rules at any given time. Children under 18 are not allowed to visit.
