Senior Business Controller – Digital

Do you want to help create stronger financial management of a large and complex IT domain – and at the same time be a close sparring partner for our CTO and IT leadership?

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Business Controller for our technology organization, Digital Development & Technology (DUT). DUT covers everything from infrastructure, architecture and group-wide systems; to data, AI, product and platform development of our media products; as well as commercial support. The role is located in Group Controlling, but works closely with the CTO and DUT leadership.

DUT is in the midst of a multi-year transformation of how we work and create value. It is not only DUT's own journey: it is part of the overall transformation of JP/Politikens Hus. At the same time, the organization runs a substantial existing cost base. There is therefore a need for both stronger financial transparency and day-to-day governance and qualified financial sparring around the larger decisions and the transformation.

You will become part of Group Controlling and report to the Head of Group FP&A, but will work closely with the CTO and the rest of the DUT leadership.

About the job

Your main task will be to create a clear picture of what we spend our IT money on, how costs are developing, and where we can better prioritize.

You will work both down to the level of financial data and spar with the DUT leadership on larger financial decisions.

Your main tasks will be to

• create transparency in DUT's cost base, including licenses, cloud, consultants and other external costs
• improve the quality of the financial foundation – e.g., chart of accounts, cost centres, accounting, accruals and CAPEX/OPEX
• drive budget, forecast and ongoing performance monitoring for DUT
• create an overview of suppliers, contracts and financial commitments
• drive the finances in the DUT transformation, including investments, legacy decommissioning, run-rate and realized savings
• identify concrete opportunities to reduce or optimize DUT costs
• be a financial sparring partner for the CTO and DUT leadership and challenge financial assumptions and priorities.

About you

You have a strong financial toolbox and experience from e.g. Business Controlling, FP&A or Finance Business Partnering. Experience with IT economics or larger transformation programs is an advantage, but not required.
