About the job
Build a bridge between business and data
Apply now! Can you translate complex needs into data products that can be used across seven banks?
Bankdata is in the process of building a new data community and a new shared cloud-based data platform to make it easier for our member banks to work data-driven.
For that work we are seeking a Senior Data Analyst who both understands the business and has strong capabilities in data and data modeling.
You will work closely with our member banks, Data Governance, various domain teams, and your colleagues in the data area. Together you will understand the needs, create common concepts, and translate them into reusable data products.
A part of your work will in the first instance be closely tied to our new shared CRM system, but the role is broader. Therefore we are primarily looking for you who can work with data and business needs across different areas.
That means you must be able to move from the dialogue about what data should be able to be used for to the logical and physical modeling of the solution that makes it possible.
Build data once – and create value across
You will be part of a product team of eight colleagues and a Product Owner. The team works closely with our other data product team and with colleagues and customers across Bankdata's data community.
The data community is new and shall be a common foundation that makes it easier for our seven member banks to work more data-driven.
That also means you do not develop a solution for just one bank. You must be able to look at the big picture and help find common models and standards that work across – while banks have different needs.
One of the areas you will work on is our new shared CRM system. Here we will develop data products and data models that can be reused across. In time you may also work with data products within other business areas.
Your contribution – from business need to data product
As a Senior Data Analyst you will have end-to-end responsibility for selected data products – from the initial dialogues about needs and concepts to modeling, development and ongoing improvement.
You will among other things
- identify needs together with our member banks, domain teams, Data Governance and other partners
- work with concept modeling and translate business needs into concrete data products
- work with logical and physical data modeling
- develop reusable data products on our new cloud-based data platform
- ensure documentation, data quality and good standards in close collaboration with Data Governance
- identify opportunities to optimize and modernize existing data solutions
- contribute to common data standards and best practices
- coach with colleagues and share your knowledge in the team and across the data area.
As a senior profile we also expect you to be able to take responsibility for the whole. The data products we build must not only function internally within Bankdata but create value across our member banks.
The first year you will get to know both bank and data
In your first 6–12 months you will build good relationships with colleagues and partners in Bankdata and our member banks.
You will get to know Bankdata's system landscape and data flows and gain insight into the financial world and the different needs our member banks have.
At the same time you will quickly start developing data products on our new cloud platform together with domain teams, customers and colleagues. In the initial period a part of your focus will be on data for our new shared CRM system and on modernizing and further developing the existing data solutions in the area.
You understand both business and data
We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst who thrives in the field between people, business and technology.
You have experience with data work, but it is important to us that your profile is not only technical . You are curious about the business that data should support, and you can enter into dialogue with users and customers, understand their needs, and translate them into models and solutions.
We imagine you have several years of experience with data work in cloud environments or data warehouses and preferably experience with several of the following areas:
- data modeling and close collaboration with the business
- logical and physical data modeling
- modern data architecture, e.g., medallion architecture and Domain-Driven Design
- data engineering in cloud environments – preferably Azure
- data quality, lineage and performance
- Python and SQL as well as ETL/ELT and data pipelines.
If you have experience with CRM systems – e.g., Microsoft Dynamics – it is an advantage, but not required. Experience from finance or IT is also an advantage, but not decisive.
Your educational background could be in natural sciences, economics, information science, BI or finance. The exact education is less important than your experience and your ability to work at the intersection of data and business.
You can create overview and win people over
It is important that you can solve tasks independently while also collaborating well with others.
You can create an overview in complex problems and move between the conceptual, business and technical levels without losing the whole.
You are trustworthy and good at building relationships – both with technical colleagues and with people at our customers. And you can explain complex data solutions so they make sense to people with very different levels of technical understanding.
At the same time we hope you have a can’t-help-yourself approach to new technology and are curious about new possibilities and ways to work with data.
A data area in development – with room for your development
You enter an area with big ambitions for data and with the opportunity to develop your professional direction yourself.
You can specialize further within Data & Analytics, data modeling, Data Governance and modern data platforms. You will also have the opportunity to work with new technologies and help shape how we work with data in the cloud.
As a senior profile you will have the opportunity to coach and develop less experienced colleagues, and in the longer term the role can also be a step toward e.g. a lead role.
What ties it all together is that you will work with data that matters – in solutions that must work across seven independent member banks in a sector where data is both business-critical and heavily regulated.
Are you ready to take the next step?
Then send us your CV today via the link below. We conduct interviews on an ongoing basis and hire as soon as we find the right candidate.
