About the job
Lay the foundation for Bankdata's cloud platform
Do you want to build the platform that makes cloud possible?
At Bankdata we are undergoing one of the largest technological transformations in our history. We are not just moving applications to public cloud – we are building the foundation that makes it possible.
As a Senior Software Engineer you will be part of the Cloud Application Enablement (CAE) team, where you help develop the platforms, services and architectures that enable hundreds of developers to build and maintain solutions in AWS.
It is complex. It is technically demanding. And it is a unique opportunity to shape the platform that the rest of the organization will build on.
What you build will not only be used by your own team. You will develop platforms and services that enable hundreds of developers across Bankdata to build and deploy solutions in public cloud. When success is achieved, the rest of the organization becomes faster, stronger and more self-reliant.
Mission: Create the foundation for Bankdata's next generation
Cloud Application Enablement is a small, highly specialized platform team with a big mission.
We build the technical capabilities, standards and services that enable Bankdata’s domain teams to develop cloud-native solutions.
You will therefore not only develop software. You become a co-creator of the architecture, technology choices and the platform components that will be decisive for Bankdata's cloud strategy in the coming years.
You will work closely with other platform teams, domain teams and external partners, where dialogue, sparring and joint problem solving are a natural part of everyday life.
We believe in short decision paths, a high degree of autonomy and technical discussions among skilled colleagues. Therefore we also prioritize being physically together for most of the week.
You will work with some of the most central technical building blocks in Bankdata's cloud transformation. It is not about one application or one domain – but about creating the shared platforms, architectures and development patterns on which the rest of the organization will build.
Kristian Nielsen, Hiring Manager
" We do not build features. We build the foundation that enables the rest of Bankdata to succeed in the cloud. Our success is not measured by the number of deliveries, but by the value we create for the rest of the organization – when development teams can work faster, more securely and with less friction. This means the choices we make matter far beyond our own team. If you are motivated by complex technical challenges, large influence and the opportunity to shape the solutions from the start, then I think you will find this a really exciting place to be. "
Your contribution – Build cloud platforms that are used in practice
Among other things you will
- develop cloud-native platform services that enable other development teams to build solutions in AWS
- define and evolve architecture, integration patterns and technical standards with the team

Are you our next platform engineer?

We expect you to have experience with several of the following
- Java (Spring Boot or Quarkus) as well as cloud-native architecture
- AWS, event-driven systems, Kafka and messaging
- Domain-Driven Design, APIs and distributed systems
- Terraform, OpenShift, Go or familiarity with Change Data Capture (CDC) is an advantage.
