Senior Specialist, EHS - Southern Jutland
Do you want to help shape the EHS of the future in a company undergoing a significant transformation?
At Danish Crown we are in the process of transforming our business to strengthen competitiveness, simplify the way we work, and create a stronger and more sustainable company for the future.
As part of this journey we are seeking a Senior EHS Specialist who is motivated by driving change, raising standards and challenging existing ways of working. You will play an important role in strengthening our efforts in environment, occupational health and safety across several Danish locations.
A central role in our EHS transformation
As part of our Nordic EHS team you will work closely with plant managers, operations leaders, the technical department and EHS colleagues. You report directly to our Nordic EHS organization at the head office. You will function as a trusted specialist and a constructive sparring partner, contributing to improving EHS results, developing the organization’s competencies and promoting a more consistent and efficient way of working.
Your key responsibilities
- Drive implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, standards and processes.
- Contribute to driving selected EHS areas and support the implementation of local and global requirements in the Danish organization, ensuring consistent and effective practices.
- Support and challenge leaders to strengthen ownership, accountability and decision-making within EHS.
- Provide specialist advice in areas including machine safety, chemical safety, compliance with environmental requirements, ergonomics and incident investigations.
- Lead investigations of serious incidents and ensure thorough root-cause analyses, corrective actions and organizational learning.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits and compliance reviews across multiple locations.
- Use data and digital EHS tools to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Coach and train managers, technicians and EHS colleagues to build competencies and support behavior change.
- Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives and contribute to transformation projects that change the way we work.
- Share best practices across locations and contribute to the ongoing development of our Nordic EHS effort.
Who are you?
This is an opportunity for an experienced EHS professional who thrives in an environment characterized by change and wants to create tangible results. Experience in the food industry is not a requirement. The most important thing is that you have strong EHS expertise, relevant experience and the ability to translate ambitions into concrete improvements.
You are action-oriented, pragmatic and comfortable taking the lead when progress is needed. You combine strong technical judgment with the ability to engage people and build support for new ways of working. You stand robust in complexity and know when to challenge, when to listen, and how to drive a agenda forward. In addition you have:
- A relevant education with an engineering background, environment, occupational health and safety or another technical field.
- Several years of EHS experience from manufacturing, energy, the pharmaceutical industry or another operations environment.
- Possibly international experience working across countries, cultures or in a global matrix organization.
- Strong competencies across multiple EHS areas and a solid understanding of EHS management systems.
- Documented results in implementing improvements, influencing stakeholders and creating change.
- Ability to translate complex requirements into clear and practical solutions for the business.
- Strong analytical and communication skills as well as good stakeholder management capabilities.
- Flexibility to regularly travel between locations in your area and occasionally to other locations.
- Proficiency in Danish and English at a high level, both oral and written.
What we offer
At Danish Crown you will become part of an international food company with strong ambitions and a clear transformation agenda. You will have the opportunity to influence EHS results across several locations and work closely with engaged colleagues and leaders across functions and countries.
We offer a role with responsibility, professional challenges and room to make a difference. You will be part of a collaborative Nordic EHS team and help create safer, healthier and more sustainable ways of working across Danish Crown.
