About the job

At Brand & Redning Sønderjylland we work with much more than blue lights and red cars.

Our service area includes, among other things, security department, service guard, inspection of fire extinguishing equipment, first aid equipment and defibrillators in all three owner municipalities, as well as playground inspections in Tønder and Haderslev municipalities. Our service area has, in recent years, been rapidly developing, and we solve exclusively tasks that are directly related to our three owner municipalities.

You will help secure the overall overview of fire protection inspections in Tønder, Haderslev and Aabenraa municipalities, including planning of inspections, ordering, execution including reporting and the subsequent invoicing. In short, you are involved from start to finish and there is not a day that is the same.

In connection with fire protection inspections we also perform inspections of first aid equipment, defibrillators and fire hoses. Therefore it is important that you enjoy customer contact and can advise our customers on the right products and solutions.

Additionally, you will have tasks within playground inspections, where you together with our current playground inspector will carry out part of the annual inspections of the approximately 200 playgrounds in Haderslev and Tønder municipalities.

We are looking for an employee who

  • can solve a versatile role with a combination of both practical and physical work as well as administrative tasks
  • has strong communication and presentation skills
  • thrives working independently and wants to solve service tasks with responsibility and engagement
  • can plan their own workday with a focus on optimizing working time to avoid idle time and extra trips
  • is motivated by freedom with responsibility, while wanting to be part of an organization where we pull together, help each other and have a strong focus on collaboration, quality and a professional approach to tasks.

It can be an advantage if you are a functionally trained firefighter and would like to join our “flyer firefighter” function, where you join deployments at local fire stations if you are nearby, as needed during working hours. Or perhaps you would like to take the training to become a firefighter; this is also an option, but not a requirement to be considered for the position.

In daily work you will have access to a really nice newer company car with good interior and space, as well as all tools and equipment required for the various tasks. In addition, there will be thorough training in the tasks.

About Brand & Redning Sønderjylland

We are the municipalities’ joint authority regarding preventive and remedial rescue service. We respond to about 1,000 interventions annually. At the same time, we perform a variety of tasks for our owner municipalities on their roughly 250 buildings, such as service guard duties, theft protection of municipal buildings, education and courses, playground inspections on about 200 playgrounds and fire protection service, etc.

We are 32 full-time staff, 8 part-time incident leaders, 15 service guards, about 40 hourly instructors and around 800 volunteers and part-time firefighters distributed across 32 fire stations.

At Brand & Redning Sønderjylland we work from our three core values which are “orderliness, care and consideration” and we strive to always solve our tasks and meet others from these three words. It is therefore important to us that you can identify with the three core values and incorporate this into your work.
