Service Employee at National Park Center Thy

Would you like to work in National Park Thy and are you motivated by providing good service? Then we may have the job for you! Our custodian for five years is retiring, so you now have the opportunity to become his replacement.

As one of our service staff in National Park Thy, you are the practical person (m/f) who cleans the National Park Center Thy, including the public toilets in the building. You are also the one who supervises the building, calls a craftsman when needed, and picks up cigarette butts etc. when our guests do not know how to dispose of them in the container.

You will ensure contact with Thisted Municipality to keep the outdoor areas free of sand and snow. In addition you assist with a range of practical tasks related to the colleagues at the office, organizing meetings, lectures, film screenings, etc. There may also be minor operational and maintenance tasks, which you help with.

In the summer season you are also the one who ensures that our house at Stenbjerg Landing Place is clean and tidy, just as you regularly substitute the custodian at Lodbjerg Lighthouse with cleaning twice a week from May through September. In addition we expect you to step in and help with whatever may arise.

You will be the primary on-call for alarms at the national park center and at Stenbjerg Landing Place and second on Lodbjerg Lighthouse. You are also our fire safety officer – and participate in the courses necessary to perform that function. It will be practical if you live nearby, and it is necessary that you have a driver's license and can provide your own car for the job.

Opgaverne i stillingen består af

• Daily cleaning of the toilets in National Park Center Thy, which are open to the public 24/7 and of the interpretation room, including washing/polishing windows as needed.
• Regular cleaning of the office and meeting rooms, kitchenette, and staff toilet.
• Regular cleaning of the national park's information house at Stenbjerg Landing Place (April-October).
• Replacement for the national park's custodian at Lodbjerg Lighthouse twice a week (May-Sept.) and especially during holidays with cleaning and receipt of goods.
• Supervision/monitoring of the national park center and the technical installations, including practical tasks such as replacing bulbs, etc.
• Contact to security company, craftsmen, technicians, etc., and contact to Thisted Municipality regarding e.g. waste, maintenance of soakaways, snow and sand clearance, etc.
• Procurement and replenishment of soap, paper, hygiene bags, etc.
• Table setup and –tidying in connection with events.
• Ordering, collection and presentation of catering for meetings.
• Handling of mail and goods etc. and driving of materials between the park's dissemination sites.
• Updating chemical databases and chemical risk assessment.
• Other miscellaneous work in a sometimes hectic daily life.

About us

National Park Thy is one of Denmark's five national parks and is an independent state-funded foundation managed by a board. The daily operations are handled by the national park secretariat, of which you will become part. The secretariat is located in Nr. Vorupør and we are about 11 employees.

About you

You have experience with cleaning and window cleaning, as well as purchasing, inventory management and risk assessment of cleaning products. You also preferably have experience with other practical tasks related to building maintenance and meeting organization.

It is important to us that you can work independently and are motivated to provide good service to the park's guests, volunteers and staff. You have a practical approach to tasks and are solution-oriented. You should have the desire and ability to communicate with tradespeople, suppliers and volunteer hosts.

You are flexible regarding working hours, which can be on weekdays and weekends.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable joint agreement between the Ministry of Finance and OAO as well as the circular on the organizational agreement for cleaning assistants, sanitizers, skilled workers and certain vocationally educated staff, etc. in the state (3F).

The position is covered by pay grade 1 (unskilled). The base salary as of August 2026 for 30 hours per week without pension is between DKK 19,698.24 and 20,174.53. The position includes a functional allowance of DKK 2,000 per month plus pension, and qualification allowances can be negotiated. Pension is 15% of the net salary. An allowance is paid for weekend work.

The position is permanent and initially 30 hours/week.

You will report to the national park manager, Else Østergaard Andersen.
