About the job

Do you want to contribute to holding figureheads and masterminds, villains in suits and crooks at the keyboard accountable? And are you passionate about handling complex criminal cases concerning economic crime? Then you may be our new colleague in one of the Tax Administration's criminal case units in Odense.

You will be part of an engaged and professionally strong environment with challenging tasks and an informal tone in a criminal case unit in Odense.

You will work with cases of tax, VAT and excise evasion, possibly within special areas such as vehicle registration duties or excise taxes. You will receive thorough onboarding and variation in case types and complexity, ample opportunity for competence development and a flexible everyday life.

Here we have a strong focus on respect for each other and on quality in task execution. We solve many of our tasks in a project-oriented manner, and you will actively join teams with a focus on development and challenging tasks. You will have independent responsibility for your own cases, but good opportunities for sparring with colleagues and your contribution plays an important role in solving the unit's cases.

About your work

The area Criminal, Restitution and Forbearance in the Tax Administration handles tax- and duty-criminal cases against citizens and companies. As a caseworker with us you get a wide range of tasks, including to:

  • assess criminal cases,
  • hold meetings with suspects and advisers, e.g. lawyers,
  • prepare penalty proposals and write indictments to the police,
  • cooperate with police and prosecution authorities and
  • lead projects in the unit.

About you

We want you to succeed and thrive in the role as a legal caseworker. Therefore we place emphasis on that you:

  • have a focus on the rule of law and integrity,
  • are results-oriented and have an overview of your own cases,
  • see the value in collaboration and have an interest and willingness to share knowledge with your colleagues,
  • have numerical understanding or accounting knowledge, but most importantly are not intimidated by numbers and
  • are good at articulating yourself and can convey complex legal concepts in an easy-to-understand language.

As a lawyer, business lawyer, tax auditor or cand.merc.aud. you are well-suited for the position, but you may also have another educational background in which you have acquired the necessary professional insight.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of criminal law and case handling, but not a necessity, as we guarantee good onboarding. We focus on hands-on leadership and the ability to bring our differences into play, so you settle well into the tasks and receive the necessary sparring.
