Site supervisor with a focus on drainage for large road projects

Context

At SYSTRA Denmark we work on many of the country's central infrastructure projects, from expanding motorways and developing municipal roads to other large construction tasks. We are experiencing increased activity and therefore seek a skilled supervising inspector for our dedicated drainage team in the Environment, Water and Land department. You will become part of a department with 25 professionally skilled employees who work closely on complex and sustainable projects across the country.

We are working, among other things, on the expansion of the Øresund motorway, the Hillerød motorway, as well as a number of projects for the Danish Road Directorate and several municipalities. We value teamwork, collaboration and a strong professional community.

Missions/Main Duties

About the job

As a supervising inspector at SYSTRA in the Environment, Water and Land department you will play a key role in planning, execution and follow-up on drainage and soil in the execution phase of large road projects. You will be responsible for coordinating and conducting professional supervision of drainage and soil, so we deliver sustainable solutions of high quality – on time and within budget.

Your tasks will include

• Supervision or professional supervision of drainage on large and small construction projects within motorways, roads and utility projects
• Participation in construction meetings and close dialogue with the construction manager and contractor
• Quality assurance and follow-up on the contractor's work on the construction site
• Monitoring progress and reporting to the construction management
• Handling deviations and coordinating timely corrective actions
• Ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with project documentation, health and safety and environmental requirements

Profile/Skills

We envision that you

• Have an engineering degree – or another relevant technical background
• Have a minimum of 5 years and preferably 10 years of documented experience in a similar role as supervising inspector on large road and civil engineering projects, preferably for the Danish Road Directorate
• Have relevant courses in supervision, including The Road as the Workplace
• Work in a structured way, be proactive and results-oriented
• Have strong communication skills and be able to foster good dialogue with colleagues, contractors and clients
• Value collaboration, job satisfaction and a good work environment
• Are fluent in Danish – both spoken and written
