About the job

What can we offer

Are you looking for challenges and an independent job with responsibility? Do you have the mindset for daily tasks related to many different citizens across the municipality? Then a job as a pest control officer at Kolding Municipality's Contractor Department might be for you!

Right now we are seeking a colleague for pest control who can step into a role as a responsible, service-minded, and professional pest control officer.

Functions

As a Pest Control Officer in Kolding Municipality, your primary task is to combat rats. You will work in a team of 5 other pest control officers, whom you will plan and carry out the day’s tasks with.

You will perform your work both independently and in collaboration with your colleagues, the team coordinator, and the case handlers in the office.

Before visits to residents, agreements are made by phone. Residents are visited and then the follow-up or closure of the report is agreed.

It is important that you are able to maintain a friendly, professional, and courteous appearance, as a pest control officer you may sometimes have to make difficult decisions.

Weekend work can be expected to a limited extent (about every 6th weekend) as urgent reports must also be handled on weekends.

Qualifications

You are a licensed pest control officer or are willing to become licensed.

As a pest control officer you meet many different residents, it is therefore important that you are outgoing and service-minded. A good sense of humor is an advantage, but it is also important that you can act authoritatively in a control role.

As a colleague you are calm, stable and diligent.

It is important that you can independently prioritize a task and plan your day so that an urgent task does not throw you off track. You must have the ability to complete a task efficiently and hand over a completed task with the correct information and documentation to your colleague.

You must have proficiency in Danish in writing and speaking, IT at user level, and if you have knowledge of DriftWeb and Priopti this is an advantage, but of course we provide thorough training in our IT systems.

You must hold a valid driving license for a passenger car and be able to present a clean child certificate (børneattest) without remarks.

Who are we?

The Contractor Department is an executing contractor department with about 100 employees. It is busiest in summer and least busy in winter. We primarily deal with maintenance of green areas such as parks, forests, sports facilities and waterways, as well as maintenance of black/grey areas such as paving works in concrete and granite, asphalt works, drainage works and roadside maintenance.

In addition we have a carpenter- and blacksmith workshop that carries out tasks both internally and externally.

The Contractor Department is part of the City and Common Administration.

In the City and Common Administration there are about 1000 employees working together to strengthen and develop the entire municipality as an attractive place to live, visit, and grow. We want to be a step ahead and create positive changes and an ambitious community. Here there is room to grow, a high ceiling, and thus plenty of room for your professional and personal development.

The City and Common Administration is one of four administrations in Kolding Municipality, which in total employ around 8000 employees. In Kolding Municipality we work based on the vision “Kolding – together we design life” and a mindset we call the Citizen’s Center, where we seek together across administrations and professional boundaries to find the best solutions with and for residents, businesses, and other partners.

We actively work for the green transition as a municipality, and for us sustainability is more than a buzzword. We have a Sustainability House, which is our hub for sustainability and green transition. It is the place where residents, businesses, educational institutions, associations, and employees can get a push toward a more sustainable transition and gain direction, ideas, and inspiration in sustainability.

Salary: In accordance with the applicable collective agreement and the rules of decentralized pay formation.
