About the job

Would you like to become part of a dynamic workplace in development, where both the medical and multidisciplinary collaboration are highly valued, and do you have interest and motivation to work in a 24-hour unit, then perhaps you are the one we are seeking?

We are seeking a chief physician with a start date the 1st of January 2027 or by agreement. The position is a permanent post and, as a rule, a full-time position with the workplace in Gødstrup.

Regional Psychiatry Gødstrup handles the general psychiatric function in the western part of Region Central Denmark. Ward 5 is a specialized 24-hour unit with 11 beds, primarily responsible for assessment and treatment of patients with psychotic disorders, ADHD, developmental disorder, or a court order for treatment. You will join a specialized team that handles clinical examination, diagnosis and treatment. We offer a high professional standard in patient care, and you will therefore be part of an ambitious team – both mono- and multi-disciplinary. You will become part of a multidisciplinary team with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social and health assistants, educators, a social worker, a special psychologist, as well as a specialist and doctors in postgraduate training programs.

We continuously work to develop our professionalism and treatment methods through curiosity, openness and knowledge sharing. Part of your job will also involve internal teaching and supervision, just as you will participate in collaboration with external partners.

We offer a dynamic and challenging work environment where you will largely help to create the framework for finding the best solutions that provide value for the patient.

We are a department with both new and experienced staff who share a commitment to helping our patients. We are incredibly proud of our profession and our expertise, but we also place great importance on having a good working environment and enjoying our work. Likewise, a good working environment with an appreciative approach to patients, relatives and colleagues is valued, and we maintain an informal tone where all professional groups are respected.

If you live in or around Aarhus, you will, together with colleagues, have the opportunity to travel with the direct psychiatric bus between Aarhus and Gødstrup.

We offer

  • Exciting challenges at a workplace that values professional quality and competence development
  • Opportunity to develop and contribute to a multidisciplinary team with high professional standards
  • Flexibility in relation to professional and personal wishes
  • Thorough introduction
  • Good opportunities for further education in leadership and/or specialty areas after further agreement
  • Becoming part of a growing and well-functioning specialist group with many competencies

We are looking for a chief physician who

  • is a specialist in psychiatry with broad psychiatric experience, and who can meet the evaluation criteria for specialists set by Region Central Denmark
  • has extensive experience with the particular presentation of psychiatric disorders and special conditions for treatment and assessment in relation to the patient group
  • possesses personal integrity, flexibility and good collaborative skills and at the same time has good communication skills and understands the value of a well-functioning multidisciplinary collaboration
  • is willing to participate in teaching and development activities, including supervising junior doctors
  • is interested in on-call work, as there is in principle a duty to be on call in the position

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement between the Association of Specialist Doctors and Danish Regions.

The applicant will be assessed based on the 7 medical roles. Please submit your application including documentation of competences within the specialist roles.
