Structured program (when you have a high school background)

When you are employed on a shortened structured program, it starts with Grundforløb 2 (takes 8 weeks) and continues to the Main Course.

What does the job involve?

Social- and health care helper apprentices work with people – e.g., in home care or at care homes.

• school programs at the School for Welfare and Adult Education (Vevo) in Viborg

What does the education involve?

The education alternates between on-the-job training and school. During the education you gain important knowledge about nursing and care as well as skills that make you ready to help people in the best possible way. You will work with rehabilitation and get tools to plan activities that promote good health and prevent diseases.

At school you learn about anatomy, physiology and pathology as well as the connection between lifestyle and disease. You will receive instruction in hygiene and prevention of infection.

When you are employed on a structured program, you start at Grundforløb 2 (takes 8 weeks) and then continue to the Main Course. There may also be an opportunity to start directly on a Main Course.

Residence permit

Remember to attach a valid residence permit + a copy of your residence card (§) - REMEMBER FRONT AND BACK, as this is a requirement to be considered for a place.

Important dates

• Structured program starts on April 21, 2027.

You can expect a response to your application on 25/2-27. Interviews will be held on 24/2-27, in cases where there is a need for further questions.
