About the job
Social and Health Care Assistant at Skelhøj
Would you like to be part of a residential offering with high professional standards, strong collegiality and room for both development and humor?
At Skelhøj we are looking for a social- and health care assistant who wishes for a daily life where relationships, professional reflection and interprofessional collaboration are the foundation of our work.
About Skelhøj
Skelhøj is a social-pedagogical residential facility under the Social Services Act §105 for adults with permanent physical and/or mental disabilities. We are beautifully located in Veksø with nature as the nearest neighbor and only a few minutes' walk from public transportation.
At Skelhøj there are 30 residents spread across four teams. A common factor is that they live with intellectual disabilities or a brain injury, which is congenital or acquired early in life. Many also have complex support needs and various additional diagnoses or disabilities, such as anxiety, communication difficulties, altered perception of reality, mobility impairments or challenging and inwardly reactive behaviors.
This means that work at Skelhøj is meaningful, complex and varied. One day you might be at a café or out in nature with a resident in a 1:1 process, while the next day you collaborate with colleagues to create structure, security and good communities for several residents in the house. A common thread across all tasks is that we meet the residents with respect, professional curiosity and a belief that all people have the right to a good life, with the greatest possible self-determination and quality of life.
Professionalism and community in everyday life
At Skelhøj we create the best framework for the residents through professionalism, presence and secure relationships, but also through smiles, humor and the small moments that make everyday life valuable.
We work from a neuro-pedagogical framework based on the low arousal principles and a recovery-oriented approach. With respect for each resident's resources, hopes, wishes and prerequisites, we create support that promotes participation, mastery and a meaningful life on their own terms.
Interdisciplinary collaboration is a central part of our practice, and we highly value professional reflection, supervision and sparring. It enables us to continually develop our efforts and jointly create the best possible conditions for residents' well-being and development.
No day is the same with us. You will become an important part of the residents' lives and have the opportunity to witness both small and large progress up close. It could be a resident mastering a new skill, taking part in an activity, or experiencing increased well-being and joy in daily life through the support you help create.

- High level of professional sparring and reflection
- Opportunity to influence and develop practice
- Available management with a focus on well-being
- Team meetings every 14 days

- Easy transport, only 5 minutes from the S-train and with good parking options
- We tailor the introduction to your experience. If you are new to the field, you will receive close training, sparring and plenty of time to get to know the residents, the professionalism and the workflows.
With us it is natural to ask for help, share professional considerations and support each other in demanding situations. We believe that high professional quality is created through openness, curiosity and a work environment characterized by psychological safety, where you can openly bring both successes and challenges to the table and that the best solutions are created in collaboration.
