About the job
Do you want to help create a secure and meaningful everyday life for people with ASD?
Kellersvej 6ABD is seeking a professionally engaged and curious social- and health assistant for a maternity leave position starting December 1.
We are a small residential facility with 18 adults spread across three houses and are part of Gladsaxe Handicaptilbud.
Curious about who we are and what everyday life looks like at Kellersvej 6?
You can read more about our citizens, professional approaches and daily life on our website .
Our citizens
Our citizens are between 19 and 57 years old and have mental functional impairment and ASD. They have varying resources and needs, but share a need for structure, predictability and security in daily life.
We work with LA2U, SVS and an appreciative approach. We take the individual citizen’s resources, wishes and self-determination as our starting point and focus on supporting the citizen to live as independently and meaningfully as possible.
The work involves support for daily activities and tasks and can also include personal care. All citizens have a day service.
Your role as SSA
As a social- and health assistant you will be a key part of the daily efforts around the citizens and of our health professional work.
Your tasks will include, among others
- medication dosing and medication management
- point of contact for health plans
- contact with doctors, hospitals and other health professionals
- co-responsibility for implementing health professional guidelines and instructions
- documentation and follow-up
- support and care in the citizens’ daily lives
- close collaboration with pedagogical colleagues and other professional groups.
You will be permanently assigned to one of our three houses and work closely with colleagues around the citizens.
We work cross-professionally and use our meetings for professional sparring, reflection and coordination. You will have the opportunity to bring your health professional knowledge into play in an environment where the health and pedagogical perspectives go hand in hand.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who
- is trained as a social- and health assistant
- works in a structured way with an eye for the individual citizen’s needs
- can create calm, safety and predictability
- has an interest in people with ASD and mental functional impairment
- is professionally curious and reflective
- can work independently while also engaging in close cross-disciplinary collaboration
- can give and receive professional sparring
- works with high professionalism, integrity and respect
- can maintain overview, even when everyday life becomes unpredictable.
Experience with ASD, LA2U or similar is an advantage, but the most important is your professionalism, curiosity and desire to work with our citizens. You will be introduced to our methods and workflows.
We would like to get to know you
Of course you should send your CV, but we do not want a traditional application that merely repeats your CV.
We would rather hear about you, your motivation and your professional strengths.
Therefore answer briefly to these three questions
- What motivates you to work as a social- and health assistant with adults with ASD and mental functional impairment?
- How would you contribute to making the health professional effort a natural part of the citizen’s daily life – while respecting the citizen’s self-determination and needs?
- We work closely across professions. What do you think you can contribute in collaboration with your pedagogical colleagues as an SSA?
Answer in your own words. It doesn’t have to be long – we are more interested in your thoughts and reflections than in a perfectly formulated application.
We offer
- 18 fantastic and diverse citizens
- engaged and helpful colleagues
- a close cross-professional collaboration
- professional challenges and opportunities for development
- opportunities for courses and further training
- a workplace where we together take responsibility for a good working environment.
