Social- and health care assistant for mixed shifts, mostly day shifts - Gug Nursing Home

We prioritize both the lived and the living life in a homely and safe environment. We work from a rehabilitative perspective with help for self-help. All professional groups work closely together in daily life and the focus is that we think together about solving the core task.

We have many different tasks here at Gug Nursing Home, and we place great emphasis on the idea that everyday life does not always have to be dull and monotonous; we greatly value “star moments” with residents and with each other.

Gug Nursing Home is a care home with 41 somatic places. Of these 41 places, 25 are under §47. These are often citizens with little family, particularly vulnerable citizens, etc. This means that we have many different types of people in our care home places.

We place a high value on domestic surroundings, coziness and community, while at the same time working from the Aalborg Municipality’s value base and the strategies for seniors and care. Strategies for Seniors and Care (in particular we have a strong focus on the rehabilitative work).

Today we have employed 2 house assistants who handle many of the basic tasks around activities and planning thereof, setting the table for lunch, etc., social and health care workers and social and health care assistants who handle all the health-related tasks as well as assistance under the Social Service Act, and we have also employed a physiotherapist who will help raise the work with the residents, both as part of care but also with a focus on training and rehabilitation, thereby increasing our residents’ ability to maintain their skills and work rehabilitatively.

We also have a nurse employed who handles nursing on weekdays between 7-15. The nurse is also tasked with training and boosting the competence of employees at Gug Nursing Home, so here you will also have plenty of opportunities to gain even more competencies and professionally competent sparring on tasks.

We also place particular emphasis on the social aspect of everyday life, here both with respect to residents and among the staff; we prioritize social relations. There is a good tone in the house, we are good at helping each other, and we have a good collaboration with the nursing home doctor, the nurses from the nursing service, and other multidisciplinary partners.

Most importantly, we play well together.

About you

• You are trained as a social and health care assistant, and you are passionate about contributing to a daily life where together we create the best framework and conditions for our residents
• You have the resident’s perspective in solving the core task
• You are adaptable and able to maintain an overview in acute situations
• You are organized and have a sense of order
• You have a good mood and humor
• You wish to contribute to a good working environment

Professional competencies

• Trained social- and health care assistant
• Focus on working rehabilitatively with our residents
• Handle nursing-technical tasks
• Dosage and handling of medication
• Detection and prevention of illness
• Contact with collaboration partners e.g., nursing, doctors, hospital etc.
• Participate in triage, resident conferences, etc.
• Document according to applicable guidelines in our care system Cura

Personal competencies

• You are responsible and good at collaborating across professions
• You can work independently and are curious about the tasks
• You must be able to engage in positive collaboration with residents and their relatives based on life history, their wishes and needs
• You take responsibility in the social community and in creating a good working environment
• You should have a desire to work with older and frail people, including those cognitively challenged and residents with mild psychiatric disorders

According to the current collective agreement between KL and the negotiating organization.
