We currently have a vacant position on the team at the Forensic Psychiatric Ward R6 at Aarhus University Hospital in Viborg.

Meaningful work – and lots of opportunities
At R6 you will have the opportunity to help a special group of patients: the forensic psychiatric patient. What they have in common is that they are with us for three to five years or longer – something that allows us to develop and work with special treatment pathways, where we use a wide range of treatment methods.
Based on the principle that competent staff make competent choices, we do a lot to develop our professional competencies in the department.
It is important for us to be able to offer the best treatment to our patients. To achieve this, we focus on patient involvement, and part of that is that patients themselves choose their team. We are not afraid to think outside the box to provide optimal treatment for the patients.
We do a lot to have an attentive leadership style and a good working environment, so there are optimal conditions for solid job satisfaction. And we are good at balancing seriousness and humor in everyday life.
Interdisciplinary staff group
We have a broad, egalitarian staff group, consisting of both newly educated colleagues and experienced colleagues. It provides a good dynamic and solid interdisciplinary sparring that helps us create meaningful treatment pathways for our patients.
Activities as an integrated part of treatment
We organize activities together with our patients as part of their treatment. We have, among other things, e-sports facilities, a gym, walking groups, campfire trips, fishing trips and trips to, for example, the West Coast.
Not so much drama in daily life
We place a strong emphasis on structure and a collaborative environment between patients and staff, which helps us minimize problems before they grow. Therefore our daily life is basically calm.
We help you settle well into your new job
It is important to us that our new colleague gets a good start. Therefore we also offer a solid introductory program, a mentoring scheme and an approach where we figure it out together.
It is also important to us that you continue to thrive and develop in your work. Therefore supervision, reflection and teaching are a fixed part of the work plan for everyone, so you are well equipped for your work.
You fit in at R6 if you
- are interested in using your professional background and your personal competencies to treat particularly vulnerable patients with their psychiatric disorders
- can give them a good everyday life and tools to prevent new crime
- are good at maintaining an overview in acute situations, can develop professional and meaningful treatment pathways for our patients and are eager to further develop your competencies within forensic psychiatric work
In addition, it is important that you are not afraid of conflict, can accommodate people with complex challenges and can set boundaries when needed.
Safety
In the Forensic Psychiatric Department we place a high value on the safety of patients and staff, and all staff must be able to use de-escalation methods in required situations. All staff attend a de-escalation course. Competencies must be maintained according to applicable guidelines. The positions involve the ability to handle physical alarm situations.
Flexible duty roster gives room for family life and leisure
To develop and maintain each person’s competencies and to enable staff composition that supports safety and presence of relevant competencies around the clock, the position has mixed shifts (day, evening, and night). The department strives to accommodate employees' wishes, while considering operations.
We use the MyPlan app. You therefore have the option to input your shift preferences based on a basic schedule, so work, family life and free time can fit together. You should expect to work every other weekend.
