Would you like to help create a safe and meaningful daily life for a citizen with autism in their own home? Do you have a calm approach, professional curiosity, and respect for the fact that your work takes place in another person's home? Then we would like to hear from you.

In the Social Service Delivery Area in Ishøj Municipality we are looking for a residential support worker for a team that provides support to a citizen in their own apartment. The citizen lives in a three-room apartment, where we rent one room as the base for the intervention. We plan the support as a supported living arrangement in the own home, and the citizen has support for most hours of the day and night. You should be prepared that the working hours are arranged in long shifts.

The citizen has a strong network and enjoys creative activities. Two days a week the citizen participates in an activity and social contact service under the Danish Act on Social Services § 104. A staff member accompanies and provides one-to-one support here. We work closely with the § 104 service, the family, and the authorities to ensure coherence in the effort.

An assignment that requires both professionalism and respect

You will be part of a small team of staff who share the work in the citizen's home. Your task is to support the citizen in everyday life based on the citizen's needs, wishes and possibilities. This can include creating overview and structure, supporting participation in activities and helping the citizen through situations that feel difficult.

The citizen may meet new activities or changes with resistance. Therefore, it is important that you can stay calm, be patient and adapt your approach. You must be able to motivate without pressuring and have an eye for when the citizen needs time and space to take the next step independently.

When you work in the citizen's home, you are a guest in a private life. We therefore emphasize that you meet the citizen with humility, flexibility and respect for both the home and the citizen's self-determination.

We imagine that you

  • are educated as a social- and health care assistant; preferably with experience with autism and/or psychiatry
  • can create secure relationships and work calmly and in a structured way
  • can adapt your support when today039s plans or the citizen's needs change
  • thrive working independently while also using your colleagues for sparring
  • see collaboration with family, the § 104 service and the authorities as an important part of the task
  • contribute to shared professional reflection and a coherent effort.
  • Are strong in documentation; including the health-care documentation

In addition, we want you, as a Social- and Health Care Assistant, to be ready and have experience taking responsibility for medication. We imagine that you take responsibility for dispensing, medication ordering, contacting the doctor, health-care documentation, the 12 health-care-related tasks, etc. Furthermore, we expect that you are prepared to share your health-care knowledge with your colleagues and conduct audits of medication administration as well as documentation of PN and effect evaluation.

You will become part of a professional community

Even though you often work alone with the citizen, you are never alone with the task. We prioritize professional sparring, close supervision and supervision.
