Right now we have the most vacancies in home care, where we are looking for skilled educated social and health care assistants, who will help give the elderly a healthy and dignified life in their own homes. We are looking for staff for Home Care for citizens over 65 and for The Social Home Care in Copenhagen, and you can be a recent graduate or have many years of experience.

Tasks

In the City of Copenhagen Home Care, two days are not the same, and you will carry out many diverse tasks for citizens with different life situations and needs. Citizens' homes are your primary workplace, but we also meet daily at the base to ensure coordination and collaboration. We are therefore looking for you who have heart in your work and wish to stay professionally sharp while performing tasks such as

• personal care and support with attention to the individual person's needs and resources
• help and support for practical tasks such as cleaning, shopping and laundry
• ensure good framework for everyday routines through a rehabilitative approach
• assess general health and document the important
• participate in citizen pathways and help create coherence for the individual

The pace can be high at times, but we work together on tasks and on finding good solutions. It is important that everyone goes home from work happy with the feeling of having made a real difference for people who need your expertise and help.

Home Care for citizens over 65

We have vacancies across the city in Home Care for citizens over 65 who need support in daily life. From the cozy streets of Amager and the lively areas around the Inner City and Østerbro to the culturally rich neighborhoods in Brønshøj and Nørrebro or scenic areas in Valby, Vanløse or Bispebjerg.

It is easy to get to work – no matter where you live. From City Hall Square there is only 11 minutes by bike to Bispebjerg/Nørrebro and 15 minutes to Amager and Valby – we match your wishes with the areas that suit you best. Just indicate in the questionnaire where you would like to work.

We have divided the home care for citizens over 65 into five areas , which together support all elderly Copenhageners who need help for shorter or longer periods of their lives. In the questionnaire you can choose which areas you want to apply for. You have a greater chance of getting an interview if you apply to several places in the city.

The Social Home Care

The Social Home Care is for citizens between 18 and 65 years who live with mental illness, disability and/or substance abuse, and who need support to manage daily life in their own home. The relationship with the citizen is an important part of the task, and we meet everyone with respect, equality and dialogue.

Our top task is to help citizens create a good life by giving them the opportunity to develop their own resources to live a satisfying and meaningful everyday life.

The Social Home Care covers the whole of Copenhagen and is organized in Center North and Center South. This makes us able to be close to the citizens and minimize travel time between visits.

Center North has an address at Vibevej 9, 2400 Copenhagen N. Center South has addresses at Radisevej 6, 2300 Copenhagen S and Enghavevej 82 C, 2450 Copenhagen V.

There are few positions at nursing homes, and you may therefore be asked if you are interested in applying to home care if there is not a nursing home position that matches your preferences.

Employment terms

You will be employed under the applicable collective agreement, and your salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.

In connection with the employment we will obtain references, a criminal record check as well as a child certificate, where relevant.

If you have previously been employed by Copenhagen Municipality, also applies

If you are considered for a job offer in the municipality, we will check whether you have been terminated or dismissed from the municipality within the last three years and share relevant information about it with the hiring manager. It may also include information about criminal offenses that led to termination or dismissal from Copenhagen Municipality, information about misuse of substances such as a positive alcohol test or information about medical history that may have significant bearing on a new employment in the municipality.  Read more here .
