Admission requirements

• Passed – or ongoing - Basic Course 2 (GF2) targeted at a social and health education (continuation to the main course depends on passing GF2)

Education program

The education as a social and health care assistant is a vocational education that alternates between school and on-the-job training. During your education you will go through two on-the-job training periods – one in home care and one at one of our elder care centers. The education lasts 14 months. If you have prior experience as an unskilled worker, you must submit documentation and then SOSU H school will assess whether you can receive credit for parts of the education.

Recruitment process and salary

The working hours are 37 hours per week and you receive pay throughout the education. We follow FOA’s collective agreement and conditions regarding student salary/adult student salary.

We hire social and health care students on an ongoing basis and call candidates for interviews as we receive applications.

When hiring, we obtain references.

The salary as of 1 April 2025

Social care assistant trainee:                  13,774.80 DKK

Adult student:                         25,247.75 DKK

You can apply for adult student salary if you are at least 25 years old before the start of the education and within the last 4 years have had minimum 1 year of relevant employment with an average of 24 hours per week. Payslips must be sent with your application.

If you do not meet the above criteria you can ask the job center in your municipality if you meet the conditions for subsidies for adult apprentice wages. If approved, we can offer adult trainee wages (attach confirmation email from your job center).
