About the job
Would you like to help create a safe, structured and developmental daily life for a child or a young person?
At SocialNetværket we continually experience that new children and young people are placed with us in our Solist offer. Therefore we want to be proactive and build a strong professional team of staff who are ready to take on new tasks.
We are therefore continually seeking social-educational staff – preferably pedagogues or pedagogical assistants – who are keen to work closely with a child or a young person and be an important part of the entire effort surrounding the child.
A Solist offer is more than a workday
When a child or a young person is placed in our Solist offer, it is the child’s home and base.
That means we do not only work with individual parts of the child’s daily life. We work with the whole child and the child’s entire life.
As an employee you are thus involved in shaping the framework around the child – from morning to evening and through both the good and difficult periods.
It’s about, among other things
- to create a clear and predictable structure
- to plan and create coherence in the child’s daily life
- to support the child in developing strategies and coping
- to work with relationships, well-being and development
- to be attentive to the child’s signals and needs
- to handle conflicts and difficult situations professionally
- to support the child in school, leisure, activities and social relations
- to collaborate with parents and networks
- to collaborate with the school, the municipality and other partners
- to document and follow up on the pedagogical efforts
- to work based on action plans, goals and professional strategies
- to create continuity between staff and shifts
- to take responsibility for the practical tasks that naturally come with having a child or young person living with you.
In short: We are around the whole child – not only certain hours or activities.
Structure is an important part of our professional practice
Many of the children and young people placed in our Solist offer need a high degree of structure, clarity and predictability.
Therefore you must be able to create a daily routine where the child knows what will happen, what is expected, and who is around the child.
You must be able to plan ahead, follow up and be consistent in a calm and affirming way.
At the same time you must be able to adjust the structure when the child’s needs change.
It requires staff who can think pedagogically before, during and after a situation – and who can see the connection between the child’s behavior, well-being, development and the frameworks we create around the child.
You will become an important adult in the child’s life
In a Solist offer you become part of the child’s close daily life.
You must be able to build a relationship where the child experiences you as a safe, clear and stable adult.
You must be able to be close without taking over, set boundaries without creating unnecessary conflict and maintain an overview when the child is having difficulties.
Some days things go as planned.
Other days they do not.
Therefore you must be able to work in a structured way while also being flexible when reality demands it.
We are looking for someone who
- is educated as a pedagogue, pedagogical assistant, or has another relevant social-educational qualification
- has experience with children and young people – preferably from the specialized social sector
- has strong relationship-building skills
- can create and maintain structure
- works systematically and can maintain an overview
- can translate professional goals into concrete pedagogical practice
- can observe, document and reflect on own practice
- can work calmly and professionally under pressure
- can be clear and caring at the same time
- can see the child’s behavior as communication and be curious about what lies behind it
- can collaborate closely with colleagues, family, school, municipality and other partners
- take responsibility for both the pedagogical and practical tasks around the child.
You do not need to know it all from day one. The most important is that you have the desire, professionalism and curiosity to get to know the child and develop your pedagogical approach together with us.
You are not alone
Although the Solist offer is built around one child or one young person, you are not alone with the responsibility.
You become part of a team around the child and at the same time part of the SocialNetværket’s larger professional community.
We work, among other things, with
- professional sparring
- P meetings
- supervision
- ongoing follow-up on the interventions
- introduction and training
- relevant courses and skills development
- close collaboration between staff and management.
We emphasise that the staff work in the same direction so the child experiences recognisability, continuity and clear boundaries, regardless of who is on duty.
Working hours
The working hours depend on the specific Solist offer.
This may include
- long day shifts (e.g., 9-22)
- evening shifts
- 24-hour shifts
- weekend work
- shifting working hours.
When we have a concrete assignment, we will discuss with you the content of the task, the working hours and the concrete framework.
Would you like to join?
We continually seek new staff because our Solist offer is developing, and new children and young people are placed with us.
Therefore this posting is also an opportunity for you who would like to work with the Solist area, even if there isn’t necessarily a concrete vacancy right now.
When we receive a new assignment, we, among other things, look at our applicant pool to find the best professional and human match.
If you can see yourself in a job where structure, relationship, professionalism and responsibility go hand in hand, we would love to hear from you.
