About the job
We are looking for a new colleague who will use their professional expertise to be a co-creator and ensure safe and trusting frames for the people who live in House 28, who have a solid professional stance, and who wish to work within a complex and highly specialized social-pedagogical field.
House 28 is one of five houses under Residences at Oktobervej and part of CFD's social offers, which are aimed at adults who are deaf, have deaf-blindness, or have a significant hearing loss and need special support. In House 28 there are 10 residents in their own apartments, located in connection with homely and cozy common areas and wonderful outdoor facilities that appeal to the senses.
The pedagogical support is very individualized. It is adapted to each person’s needs based on the resident’s wellbeing and potential for development. In our work we base it on the neuro-pedagogical framework, the zone of proximal development, and we are in the process of initiating the implementation of LAU2.
We work to secure residents’ right to live a good life with participation, inclusion, democracy, safety and wellbeing. We have a daily life where we make space for different types of activities, such as baking, outdoor activities, and cooking.
We are fond of traditions, both new and old, and we focus on residents’ connection to the Deaf environment and culture.
Workplace with community and two languages
In CFD we have a strong sense of community, where even the top management is visible and approachable. There is fundamental respect for each other as human beings and thus an understanding that we each work toward the same goal and based on common values. The strong community helps strengthen cohesion across the organization, and you will always be met with great openness from both colleagues and the people who live in the houses.
We have a long history in working with people who are deaf and have deaf-blindness, and we have a special responsibility to safeguard sign language. We are also Denmark’s largest workplace for deaf people.
It is sign language that makes CFD unique, and therefore it is a natural part of our everyday life. You should be ready to learn sign language, including at CFD’s internal sign language education, if you do not already know it. Respect and understanding for the culture among people who are deaf or deaf-blind is central to CFD’s work.
