About the job
Would you be interested in a job where you can use your professional skills close to citizens with complex needs – and at the same time work with colleagues who actually make Monday mornings feel pleasant? At Bostedet Solsiden in Sindal you will become part of a community where people help each other, share knowledge, and stand together in both the easy and the difficult tasks. If you enjoy a daily life with structure, good humor, and professional development, then this sounds very much like you, who is missing in the team.
About Bostedet Solsiden Bostedet Solsiden is part of the Area for Social Psychiatry and for citizens with severe psychiatric problems and somatic diseases who need specialized support and care in a social-psychiatric unit. Work is conducted in multidisciplinary teams and with recovery-oriented as well as rehabilitative approaches, so citizens experience safe, individualized and meaningful pathways. Professional pride is a strong driver, and professionalism is continually strengthened through collaboration, sparring, supervision and evidence-based methods.
The working environment is characterized by influence into a multidisciplinary setting, and there is a focus on an inclusive culture where diversity, respect and knowledge sharing are natural elements in everyday life.
- Multidisciplinary environment
- Focus on safety, structure and individual frameworks for citizens with complex and lasting needs
- Recovery- and rehabilitation-oriented approach using evidence-based methods in person-centered care and Open Dialogue
- Workplace: Odinsvej 25, 9870 Sindal
Your daily life As a social and health care assistant you will be a central person in citizens' everyday life – both in the small routines and the big steps toward increased mastery and self-determination. You work closely with colleagues to create pathways that are manageable, safe and structured, where social pedagogy, health, well-being and development go hand in hand. You will have responsibility, but you are never alone with it, and there is always an opportunity for sparring, reflection and help if things escalate.
The work takes place in shifts with day, evening and weekend work, and the tasks span a wide range, as citizens have very different needs and time scales. You will get the opportunity to bring both your professional skills and your human side into play – with a fixed focus on respect, empathy and citizen involvement.
As a social- and health care assistant at the residence you will need to work with your professional skills through the following initiatives:
- Check on the health-related tasks during the shift
- Work with goals and sub-goals
- Work with evaluations as a natural part of your/team's efforts with a focus on the recovery- and rehabilitation approach.
- Contribute to good conditions for the citizen and actively participate in social moments
- Work on wellbeing-promoting and relationship-building
- Work in a coordinating manner with the tasks and contribute to an interdisciplinary coherence
- Prepare and work with the citizen's life history as an integrated part of the overall effort
About you: You are professionally curious, can work independently and are happy to collaborate across professional groups, even when things do not go exactly as planned. It is important that you can remain calm, even when the situation requires patience, flexibility and an extra deep breath.
The three most important personal qualities are calmness (to create security in difficult situations), curiosity (to discover new possibilities in citizens' resources) and collaborative ability (because the task only succeeds when everyone contributes). A profile is sought that combines solid professional knowledge with a willingness to actively participate in the community and in a culture where influence, trust, propriety and professionalism are clearly present in everyday life.
- Educated social- and health care assistant
- Interest in social psychiatry, preferably with experience from the psychiatric field
- Motivation for recovery-oriented and rehabilitative work
- Comfortable with citizens with complex and long-term pathways
- Can communicate clearly, respectfully and empathetically – both in writing and orally
Culture, colleagues and development At Bostedet Solsiden you will become part of a team where there is room for both professional depth and down-to-earth conversations during lunch breaks. There is great respect for each other’s professionalities, and tasks are solved collectively – even when they are difficult. Many employees point to colleagues as the most important reason why everyday life feels safe, educational and manageable, and you can look forward to being warmly welcomed.
Reflection is a natural part of development work, and external supervision is firmly anchored in the work, so there is time and space to think together about the complex situations. A learning culture is pursued, where in the first 2 years of employment you will be trained in person-centered care (PO) and Open Dialogue (ÅD), and conflict management is introduced externally early on. In addition, there is ongoing professional development through courses, teaching days and professional meetings.
- Individually tailored introductory program with mentoring
- Regular external supervision as a part of everyday life
- Flexible working hours with day, evening and weekend shifts
- Supportive and dynamic working environment with engaged and helpful colleagues
- Ongoing professional development focusing on PO, ÅD, conflict management and social psychiatry
Salary and terms of employment The position is essentially full-time with rotating shifts. Terms of employment follow public sector agreements, and salary is negotiated according to the collective agreement for social- and health care assistants between Danske Regioner and FOA. Emphasis is placed on a good balance between tasks and resources, as well as on having opportunities for both professional and personal development in the position at Bostedet Solsiden.
