About the job

Social pedagogue for a group home in Rødovre

About the job

Do you want to be part of a strong work community?

We are seeking a social pedagogue for a 37-hour-per-week position. The employment start date is January 1, 2027.

You will support and assist citizens in a life on their own terms. We are looking for a good colleague who is loyal to collective decisions and arrives at work with a smile. Can you see yourself doing this work?

The group home Slotsherrens Vænge has two units

East Wing and West Wing. You will primarily work in the West Wing.

The target group at Slotsherrens Vænge are adults with developmental disabilities, with varying levels of functioning. Some need support/help with personal hygiene.

In the West Wing 14 residents live in their own apartment. Here there is a shared kitchen and living room.

In the East Wing 16 residents live in their own apartment. The residents are divided into two living groups and there are two common living rooms/kitchens.

Residents' ages range from 24 to 75 years.

We work from a common value base, where the individual's right to live on their own terms is respected. We view it as our most important function to support and guide the resident so that their right to self-determination is respected and preserved.

We do this, among other things, by

  • providing guidance, support and care so the resident feels able to manage their daily life and take responsibility for their own life
  • helping with shopping, cooking, keeping the apartment in order and navigating online banking, e-Boks, etc.
  • supporting contact with relatives, external partners and workplace support and guiding between social relations and the residents
  • talking with the resident about everyday challenges
  • supporting/helping residents in health-related tasks, such as medication administration and nursing tasks, in collaboration with our health coordinator.

We also offer the resident an annual action plan/status meeting with the contact person, workplace and caseworker. The pedagogue creates together with the resident a draft of the status description.

Your profile

Who are you

We are looking for someone with an open and curious approach to practice, who can build relationships anchored in your understanding of people.

You are trained as a pedagogue, or have relevant experience that you can bring into the working community. You have good collaboration skills, an overview and are adaptable. We would like to hear from you with experience, but also from those who are newly trained.

It is important to be able to take independent and professional responsibility for other people's lives. You should have the desire, courage and willingness to make a difference and have a natural overview so you can juggle several balls at once.

You are committed and flexible, come to work with contagious good energy and a positive mood.

You dare to speak up in professional discussions, and you can reflect on your own and others' practice. At the same time, you are loyal to a professional foundation and to collective decisions.

We also expect that you

  • can plan your own workday and take the lead on tasks and follow them through
  • can work systematically and persistently with pedagogical initiatives
  • have good written and verbal communication skills
  • are comfortable with IT and digitization - good knowledge of Windows is necessary
  • can document based on the resident's goal setting - CURA social
  • are flexible regarding planning of working hours.

We emphasize that you

  • have an overview and can participate in close teamwork with colleagues
  • quickly can familiarise yourself with new tasks, systems and workflows
  • have experience with similar tasks – preferably from a similar context

Since the group home has access to two minibuses, it is an advantage to have a driver's license.

Why you should choose us

We offer a collegial network with 30 engaged colleagues, professional challenges and development. There are daily overlaps, external supervision, time for collegial sparring and we enjoy being together for social traditions.

Our value base is built on loyalty, taking responsibility, being appreciative and professional. The job is to support based on the individual's right to self-determination and with respect for the individual's unique self. The starting point is the idea of a safe home, where we place emphasis on presence. We meet the resident where she/he is, based on our understanding of the individual's resources rather than limitations.

You will become part of a work community where everyone collaborates to create safety and the good life in the Slotsherrens Vænge group home. You will be attached to a team and will have the role of primary contact person for one to three residents.

The working hours are 37 hours per week, alternating day and evening shifts in the period 7:00 – 23:00. We work three weekends every eight weeks. There will also be work on public holidays - Christmas and New Year, which are included in a fixed rotation evenly distributed among employees.

Salary and employment terms

In accordance with the applicable collective agreement and in agreement with the negotiating organization.
