About the job

The Support Center is a service for adult citizens over 30 years old in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality. The Support Center provides support and guidance under §§ 82, 85 and 79/104 to a broad group of citizens living in their own homes, and participates in our club services in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality. The target group includes, among others, citizens with intellectual disabilities, late brain injury, autism, ADHD and dementia. Several of the citizens have comorbidities such as anxiety, OCD, substance abuse, etc.

We are seeking a new employee on 37 hours per week as of December 1, 2026, as an employee of 42 years has chosen to retire.

We need an employee who has extensive knowledge within our specialist area, as we have many citizens with many different challenges.

As a social-pedagogical counsellor, you will provide support and guidance in the citizen's own home, in groups and in the Support Center's premises. You will work both alone and in close collaboration with colleagues. Guidance currently takes place on weekdays, mainly in the hours 08:00-20:00 and weekend work approx. every 6th weekend on Sundays for five hours. Working hours on weekdays are flexible with focus on when citizens need support, thus your approach to work is expected to be flexible.

The Support Center also contains an activity and social offering, Klub Magneten, and we share responsibility for covering this, where you as a rule have the same fixed club evening each week if you take on the task.

We can offer you

  • To become part of a unit that places high value on responsibility and influence.
  • A weekday where you yourself have a strong influence on how your day is planned
  • Time for documentation every week
  • Fixed supervision six times a year in smaller groups
  • To help develop our professional knowledge and efforts
  • Leadership support and engagement
  • Relevant competency development and professional sparring

We want to be a place characterized by accessibility for citizens, a sense of community in task solving, and a good and proper collaborative culture that supports a good working environment.

We are working, among other things, to further develop our §85 support to create more group programs based on each citizen's goals and resources. In addition, we are developing our professional methodological approach, which today is based on KRAP, supplemented with the autism pilot, neuropedagogy and neuropsychology, Low Arousal, Open Dialogue as well as other professionally relevant methods, where we also offer NADA.

We expect you

  • Have experience with the pedagogical work for citizens with special needs
  • Have a relevant professional education
  • Are able to work flexibly and alone
  • Are willing to reflect on your own practice, both alone and with colleagues
  • Can distinguish between must and can tasks, and prioritize accordingly
  • Contribute to task solving in the unit, and take on your share of the tasks, including practical tasks.
  • Participate in citizen-directed arrangements, excursions and holidays
  • Are responsible and loyal to task solving and agreements
  • Willing to share your knowledge

If you have experience with the following or some of it, it will be a plus

  • Experience with citizens with Autism/ADHD, anxiety, OCD and/or brain injury
  • Knowledge of KRAP and Open Dialogue
  • Experience with group guidance within the target group
  • Experience with teaching

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement, and based on local salary formation principles.

Employment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record and references.
