About the job
Would you be our new colleague
Social-educational staff member sought as of January 1, 2027 for a residential facility for normally intelligent young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality.
Melagervej is a newer residential facility, started on September 1, 2022, for young people with ASD and comorbidity aged 18-29 years, under the Danish Social Services Act § 107, needing support at a low to moderate level. The facility has 7 residential places/apartments spread across two corridors and in addition a shared apartment.
The target group comprises young people who are expected to actively participate in a cooperation with the facility to strengthen their skills and independence.
The aim of the residential facility is that each young person achieves as equal, independent and meaningful a life as possible. Through individually planned support, developed in close interaction with the young person, we work toward the young person being able to move into their own housing.
The team currently consists of four full-time staff. The team works closely together to support the youths’ development process, including ADL activities, accompanying functions, contact with public authorities, maintenance of education/internship/job, etc. Each of us acts as a contact person for 1-2 youths, and we are also very team-oriented, so everyone in the team shares a common responsibility for all the youths’ daily lives and operations.
There is a lot of outreach work, and there may be quiet periods during a working day.
The framework for working hours is, as a starting point, between 9-20 on four weekdays; however Friday 9-17 and Sunday 11-16. The starting point is that we work on weekdays and typically in shifts of 6-9 hours in length.
You should expect to have 2 evening shifts per week and every fourth Sunday. In addition, certain holiday periods must be covered.
In addition, staff on rotating shifts may be available by telephone for a youth outside normal working hours after agreement, if there is a need for it. This occurs infrequently.
There is, as in the other facilities under the Center for Social Initiatives, a continuous focus on developing the interventions so that they align with the youths’ needs. This includes continuously strengthening flexibility in the services. At Melagervej we constantly keep the youths’ needs in view so that the facility remains relevant for the youths, their families, and our partners.
Melagervej is an execution unit under the Center for Social Initiatives’ Youth Department. In the Youth Department there is a desire for shared responsibility as well as a much closer and more binding collaboration between the provider and the authority.

- Being prepared for tasks that are varied and also practical in nature
- Being able to be a good role model for the youths
