About the job
Do you want to work closely with people in vulnerable life situations and help develop social offerings in Ishøj Municipality? Then you might be our new colleague.
You will be employed in the Social Implementation Area (DSU) based in the housing-social initiative. Here you will be part of a team of five employees who support citizens in creating stability in everyday life and finding a path forward that makes sense for them.
The housing-social initiative
The housing-social initiative includes the dormitory with nine beds, eight supported housing units, support under § 85a, - Housing First strategy (ICM and CTI), three resettlement apartments and a forthcoming social-psychiatric assessment space 107a. We also expect to expand the supported housing with a further two apartments in the new year.
The social area is in rapid development in Ishøj Municipality. Ishøj Municipality works from a self-sufficiency strategy, where we build and maintain specialized competencies so we can offer relevant interventions to our citizens ourselves. You will have the opportunity to help shape professional practice and ensure high quality in the housing-social effort.
Your everyday life with us
You will work across the interventions in the housing-social effort. Days will vary: some days are about creating calm and contact with a citizen. Other days involve practical tasks and goals, coordination and collaboration with the professionals around the citizen.
Your tasks will include
- build trusting relationships and handle contact person tasks
- provide social-professional support at the Dormitory, in the vulnerable housing units and in the other interventions
- solve practical and coordinating tasks as social caretaker
- support citizens in creating structure, well-being and mastery in daily life
- conduct motivational and guidance conversations
- collaborate with authorities, substance abuse treatment, job center, psychiatry and other relevant parties across municipalities
- conflict management and measures that create calm and safety on the property and in the local area.
- document the effort and systematically follow up on citizens' goals.
Tasks are planned based on citizens' needs and your competences.
Our professional approach
We work with a recovery- and rehabilitation-oriented approach. This means we start from the citizen's own wishes and goals and support the citizen in developing or regaining skills, options, and belief that change is possible. We do things together with the citizen and have an eye for how the citizen can have the greatest possible influence on their own life.
Our approach is, among other things, inspired by the CHIME perspective: connection, hope, identity, meaning and self-determination. In practice, this requires both patience, clarity and the ability to adapt support when the citizen's needs change.
We develop the effort together. You will participate in citizen conferences, operations meetings and external supervision every eight weeks. Here we share knowledge, discuss difficult situations and follow up on whether our support helps the citizen in the desired direction.
A professional community across the board
DSU consists of three departments with a total of about 60 employees. We handle specialized interventions within vulnerability, disability and psychiatry.
We place a strong emphasis on close interdisciplinary collaboration. We are flexible in task solving, help each other and use each other for professional sparring. You get great autonomy in your work, but you are not alone with the difficult assessments. You also get approachable leadership with whom you collaborate closely on daily operations, citizens' progress and the development of the effort.
We imagine that you
- are educated as a social educator or have another relevant social science education
- preferably have experience from the specialized adult area
- can create secure relationships and stay calm in pressurized situations
- thrive with both relational work, acute situations, practical tasks and professional documentation
- can work independently and at the same time contribute actively to the team
- can create structure in a daily routine where plans sometimes change
- are keen to develop practice together with colleagues across DSU.
We offer
Meaningful work close to citizens and the opportunity to contribute to the development of the municipality's own social offerings. You will have a small team around you and still be part of a larger professional community where we share knowledge, spar and help each other. Through citizen conferences, operations meetings, supervision and close cooperation with management, you will have the opportunity to influence both the individual interventions and our common practice.
Working hours
The working hours are distributed across the days of the week. The position includes at least one weekly evening shift until 20:00 and work every other or every third Saturday.
