In Team 4 at Gydehøj, four adults with significant physical and mental disabilities live. They all need pedagogical support throughout the day to experience safety, recognisability and the opportunity to participate actively in their own lives.

That may sound simple. It isn’t.

Each citizen has their own needs, resources, wishes and ways of being in the world. Therefore we succeed only when we work with a common professional direction, are curious about our practice and take responsibility for each other as colleagues.

Professionalism comes first

In Team 4 we work from an appreciative pedagogical approach and with respect for the fact that people develop throughout life. We work purposefully with structure, recognisability and safety, because that creates the best conditions for well-being and participation. At the same time we are focused on mentalization and on understanding what makes sense from the citizen’s perspective. This requires us to be inquisitive rather than quick to draw conclusions.

That we can observe, listen and be curious.

And that we can hold on to our professionalism, even when citizens are having a hard time.

Your main tasks

You will become part of a team that every day works to ensure that the citizens experience the greatest possible influence on their own lives and meaningful everyday lives.

Your tasks will include, among other things, to

• transform professional goals, structures and profile descriptions into concrete practice
• create predictability, safety and coherence in the citizens’ everyday lives
• support communication, relationships and participation opportunities
• contribute to professional analyses, reflections and development of the efforts
• participate in close collaboration with colleagues, relatives and relevant partners
• help ensure that Team 4 develops into a strong and well-functioning work community

You may be educated as a educator or pedagogical assistant.

Perhaps you come with other relevant experience or background.

The most important is that you come with experience and a desire to work with people with significant support needs.

• work relationally and look beyond behaviour – including challenging behaviour
• are professionally curious and reflective
• have experience with or interest in people with developmental disabilities
• understand the importance of structure and shared professional agreements
• are open, listening and clear in collaboration with others
• can be present, even when pace is slow and development occurs in small steps
• remember that you work in the citizens’ homes

Although Team 4 is in a rebuilding phase, you are not alone.

You will become part of Gydehøj’s overall professional community, where pedagogues, pedagogical assistants and other social and healthcare professionals contribute with different perspectives and competencies.

The practical

The position is 37 hours per week with start on 1 January 2027 – or preferably earlier.

If you are educated as a pedagogue, you will be employed as a social pedagogue in accordance with the current agreement for social pedagogues between KL and The Social Pedagogues (SL) as well as Gribskov Municipality’s pay policy. The agreement can be read at www.kl.dk

If you are not educated as a pedagogue, you will be employed as a care and pedagogical assistant in accordance with the current agreement for care and pedagogical assistants, as well as pedagogical assistants between KL and FOA, and Gribskov Municipality’s pay policy. A criminal record check will be obtained in connection with the appointment.
