About the job

Re-advertisement

Do you want to make a real difference for young people with complex psychiatric challenges?

Then it might be you we need on the team. We are seeking several pedagogs for our team who can create safety, build strong relationships and at the same time maintain the professional direction – even when days become complex.

A place worth driving to

Jacob Michaelsens Minde is located in beautiful and scenic surroundings in Skodsborg near the Øresund, with both beach and forest nearby. Here you get a workplace in calm surroundings where there is room for presence, relationships and professional deepening. There are good transport options, and the station is only about 1 km from the institution. Therefore we also reach out to you who live in or around Helsingør, Hillerød and the rest of North Zealand and would like to use your expertise in a place where relationships, treatment and development go hand in hand.

Your everyday life with us

With us, young people aged 13 to 18 live who have complex psychosocial and psychiatric difficulties. They have, among other things, diagnoses within autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia and other psychotic conditions, affective disorders and eating disorders – often with several issues at once. They are cognitively within the normal range but need adults who can be calm, clear and relationally strong. At the same time you meet young people who are kind, happy and cooperative, and who are happy to live with us.

It provides a good starting point for the pedagogical work and for creating a positive change in the lives of the young people.

Your most important task is not to have all the answers. It is to be curious about the young person, understand what lies behind the behavior and together with your colleagues translate that into a professionally well-thought-out intervention. You will become an important part of the development that helps the young people achieve greater well-being, independence and quality of life.

You will, among other things, be responsible for

  • create safe relationships and support the young people in achieving greater well-being and independence
  • actively involve the young person in their own treatment process and collaborate closely with parents, family and network
  • work with cognitive behavioral therapy (KAT), cognitive environmental therapy and Low Arousal
  • support the young people’s ability to think more nuanced and realistically
  • analyze the young person’s needs together with the team and be persistent in the agreed professional strategy
  • work closely with pedagogs, psychologists, health professionals and other professional groups.

We are looking for someone who

  • is educated as a pedagogue or has another relevant professional background
  • has experience with or genuine interest in young people with complex issues
  • is strong in building relationships – also when the young person reacts strongly or withdraws
  • can stay calm, think professionally and work systematically when situations become complex
  • wants professional sparring, supervision and ongoing competency development
  • can translate observations and professional knowledge into a concrete and persistent effort
  • has a driving license and is willing to drive during working hours.

What you get with us

  • a thorough introduction and mentoring program
  • external supervision, treatment-related sparring and access to an internal psychologist
  • opportunity for continuing education, including as a pedagogue or in cognitive behavioral therapy
  • training in the Domus journaling system and use of VR in treatment work
  • a strong professional profile and an informal workplace with humor
  • opportunity to influence the development of our professional practice
  • a daily life where you are professionally challenged and have the opportunity to make a noticeable difference.
