The education pathway – how you do it

• The education starts with a basic course 2, where you must apply via optagelse.dk and choose between school placements at Randers Social and Health School, SOSU East Jutland Aarhus or SOSU East Jutland Silkeborg.
• Basic courses start 1 February 2027
• If you are over 25 you can apply for employment from the start of the basic course. If you are under 25 you can apply for SU during the basic course and apply for employment from the start of the main course 1 February or 28 June 2027.
• If you are already in the basic course or have a valid basic course certificate, you can apply for employment in the main course from 1 February 2027.

Practical information

• Duration of the education: approx. 1 year and 8 months, including basic course 2.
• Working hours: 37 hours per week.
• Salary: If you are over 25 years old, you will receive adult apprentice wages regardless of previous work experience.
• Valid work and residence permit: If you are not a Danish citizen, you must have a valid permit throughout the education program.
