About the job

Sourcing Manager - help ensure value-creating agreements for critical components

Are you motivated by driving sourcing and procurement processes that translate the business's needs into concrete solutions? Do you have experience with strategic sourcing or category work, and do you thrive in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders? Then read on here.

Create value through sourcing, strategy and collaboration

As a Sourcing Manager you will be part of Sourcing & Contract Management and report to the Manager for Sourcing. You will be responsible for the Direct Materials 60 kV category, which includes procurement of high-voltage components such as cables, transformers, switchgear and related technical materials. The role involves close collaboration with the business, suppliers and specialists to translate needs into competitive agreements and value-adding solutions.

You will become part of the sourcing team, which consists of five Sourcing Managers and three Tender Managers, and work closely with Materials Specialists throughout the lifecycle of the contracts.

Your primary tasks

  • Plan and drive sourcing and procurement processes from preparation of tender materials to bid clarification, negotiation and contract signing.
  • Translate the business's needs into competitive agreements through commercial advice and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop category strategies for Direct Materials 60 kV in close collaboration with the Materials Specialists and the business.
  • Conduct market analyses and supplier dialogues that support new opportunities and value-adding solutions.
  • Ensure implementation of concluded agreements and contribute to shared standards, tools and commercial models.

You will also draft contracts and framework agreements and act as a sparring partner for the business. At the same time you will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of the procurement discipline and create structure and momentum in processes that are still under development.

The position can be based in Silkeborg, Aalborg or Esbjerg. There will be travel between locations as needed. Although we do not meet in person every day, we prioritize a sense of community and collaboration across geography.

You deliver results through commercial understanding and strong relationships

We are looking for a profile who can balance the business's needs, market opportunities and commercial goals. You work in a structured way and can create progress in complex processes. At the same time you build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with both colleagues and suppliers. You have a holistic view and can translate complex issues into practical solutions.

We would like you to

  • Have experience with strategic sourcing or category management.
  • Can work holistically and balance business needs, market, risks and long-term value creation.
  • Communicate clearly and be able to convey complex topics in a way that creates direction and a basis for decision-making.
  • Have experience collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers on commercial solutions.
  • Have experience with contract or supplier management.

It is advantageous if you have experience in the utility sector or with procurement of technical components. Familiarity with EU procurement is also an advantage, but not a requirement. The most important thing is that you are keen to learn how to work with procurement in a regulated utility company. You will receive support from the department's Tender Managers when conducting EU procurement.

As an employee at N1 you have a great influence on your tasks and your daily life. We are an electricity network company that operates, expands and develops Denmark's largest electricity network. Shorter doesn't say it.

We are 750 colleagues who every day help drive the electrification of Denmark, and ensure that more than 800,000 homes and businesses have power in the socket - now and in the future. In other words, we must develop tomorrow's grid so it is ready for solutions that have not yet seen the light of day. It is a big responsibility and a societal task that we are proud to solve together.

But if there still needs to be power in the connection in the future, we must dare to think anew and differently, and be open to new energy; new solutions and new colleagues.

At N1 we are a workplace driven by people, and our framework provides room for both work life, family life and everything in between. For example, we are proud that we do not have a cap on the number of sick child days. We think that makes sense.

N1 is Jutland's largest electricity network company, we are owned by the Norlys group, and are geographically anchored in Esbjerg and furthermore distributed across offices in Aalborg, Silkeborg and Copenhagen. You can read more about us at N1.dk or follow our daily life on LinkedIn/@elnetselskabet N1.
