Do you want to be close to the children while helping to shape the direction of the pedagogical work?

In Sofiegården's Nursery, we are looking for a trained pedagogue who wants to try their hand at leadership—or who already has experience with professional leadership and would like to combine the sous-chef role with being part of the pedagogical daily life.

We are based in Christianshavn and have about 43 of the city's loveliest nursery children distributed across four rooms. We are about 17 engaged and authentic staff who are passionate about nursery life. We are an independently governed institution under Børneringen, where professionalism, presence, humor and community go hand in hand.

We think big about the little ones

We place emphasis on both children's and adults' well-being and plan everyday life so that it supports our pedagogy. At the same time we safeguard presence, relationships and the small moments that help create a safe and meaningful daily life for both children and adults.

For us, good collaboration is about both professionalism and personality. Therefore we are looking for a colleague who takes responsibility, is curious about their own practice and contributes positively to the community.

A sous-chef close to the children and colleagues

Most of your hours will be on a classroom, where you together with your colleagues take responsibility for the children's well-being, development and everyday life. In addition, you will have time set aside for sous-chef duties and a close collaboration with the leader.

As sous-chef you will become an important sparring partner for the leader and help translate shared professional reflections into practice. You should want to support collaboration across the house and contribute to the pedagogical development. You also step in as deputy in the leader's absence.

We have a daily life with high co-determination and room for different professional perspectives. Therefore we are looking for someone who can listen, be clear and create alignment through dialogue, trust and collaboration.

You don't need to have management experience, but you must want to take responsibility and develop yourself in the role.

• are a trained pedagogue and passionate about nursery life
• have humor and contribute to a good atmosphere in the house
• are aware of your pedagogical foundation and can articulate your reflections
• are curious about your own and collective practice and want ongoing development
• take responsibility and keep an overview in daily pedagogical practice
• can plan, implement and evaluate pedagogical activities
• have good collaboration skills and dare to have the conversations that are necessary
• are reliable and flexible.

The practical

The position is 30 hours per week. We are open Monday to Friday from 7.00–16.45 and are not closed for summer holidays.
