About the job
Would you like to help ensure a well-functioning digital infrastructure and the continued development of the telecom area? Do you have a flair for leadership and a desire to head a professionally strong team? Then the position as deputy head in the Office for Telecom might be for you.
Office for Telecom The Danish telecom infrastructure is a fundamental prerequisite for a well-functioning digital society. In the Office for Telecom we work to create the best framework for the digital telecom infrastructure through, among other things, regulation and handling of regulatory tasks. We prioritize close dialogue with companies, authorities and other stakeholders about the ongoing operations and development in the area.
The Office for Telecom consists of about 50 professionally strong employees distributed across six teams. As deputy head you will have direct line management responsibility for about 10 employees in the Team Frequency Allocation and Supervision. The team handles a number of central regulatory tasks in the frequency domain. These include, among other things, issuing frequency licenses, collecting frequency charges and guiding companies, authorities and citizens on the use of frequencies.
We also conduct supervision under the Frequency and Radio Equipment Act, including with frequency disturbances and compliance with rules and terms. The team also contributes to international cooperation in the frequency area.
Your responsibilities As our new deputy head you will constitute, together with the two heads of the office, the daily management of the office, and you will play an important role in collaboration across the office and with other offices in the agency and the ministry. In addition, you will become part of the Digitalisation Agency’s overall executive group.
The tasks are broad, and you will among other things be responsible for
- people management and professional development of employees with different educational backgrounds
- the operation of supervision and licensing
- budget management and strategic development across the office
- collaboration with companies, citizens, other authorities and other stakeholders
About you We are looking for a deputy head who can set the direction for a team of professionally skilled and experienced employees. You have an academic background, and it is important that you want to become the manager of an operational area. It is not necessary, but it would be an advantage if you have experience with case processing and budget management as well as an understanding of legal issues.
You do not need to be a specialist in the frequency area, but you must have the desire and ability to immerse yourself in a complex professional area where technical, legal and administrative issues go hand in hand.
Specifically we emphasize that you
- have experience with and are motivated by people management, and have a view to employees’ well-being, development and professionalism
- have strong analytical capabilities and can understand complex technical and legal issues
- have an understanding of the regulatory role and preferably experience from a politically governed organization
- are process-oriented and can maintain and develop strong collaborative relationships both internally and externally
- thrive in a daily life where both ongoing operations and new strategic issues require leadership attention
In the Digitalisation Agency we continuously focus on well-being and development for all our leaders and employees. It is therefore essential that you as a person contribute to a trustful and informal working environment. You will become part of a dynamic organisation where, as deputy head, you have an important role in the ongoing development of the staff. Our everyday life is busy and characterized by complex, but interesting, tasks and many collaboration interfaces.
