About the job
Sorgenfriskolen a special school with many years of solid experience in creating learning environments where children with special prerequisites have the opportunity to develop academically, socially and personally.
Our student groups have a high need for pedagogical specialization, clear leadership and close interdisciplinary collaboration, which is why we are seeking engaged, ambitious and academically strong pedagogical staff.
We have in recent years grown in student numbers and we have expanded with a third student group. Therefore we are seeking additional pedagogues for the lower school in the S-track. S track
An holistic offer for category 4 pupils with diagnoses and issues within the autism spectrum and pervasive developmental disorders, cognitive functional impairment and with special needs for extensive special education. In addition, the pupils are challenged in their sensory perception, in communication, social interaction and behavior.
We work in small, manageable learning environments with a high degree of structure, clear class leadership and visual support. There is a close and committed collaboration between teachers and pedagogues, where both professions actively contribute to planning, execution and evaluation of the teaching.
In the SFO we work closely with the school part to create a holistic day, where wellbeing, structure and relationships are central.
A class in department S has 4-6 children and a team of 4-5 staff including teachers, pedagogues and assistants, who cover school and SFO. The everyday life in the SFO is characterized by
- Clear structure and recognizability, which creates security for the children
- Small groups and high adult contact
- Focus on social skills, communication and independence
- Activities that support both play, learning and motor development
- Close collaboration with teachers, parents and interdisciplinary partners
We work from an appreciative and resource-oriented approach, where we meet each child where they are, and support them in developing at their own pace. We are seeking a pedagogue who
- Is educated, preferably social- and special pedagogue, and with experience from the special education field.
- Thrives in a strong professional and development-oriented special pedagogical offer, where the role as school- and club-pedagogue is an important link between the children, the teachers, the management and the parents.
- Has knowledge of and experience with children with extensive profiles, such as autism, ADHD, demand avoidance, social challenges.
- Has a clear, calm, appreciative and structured approach in communication with the children.
- Is motivated to engage in a committed collaboration with different professional groups, especially as support during school hours, as a teammate in a team, with ideas from a pedagogical perspective and inspiration for structure and learning pathways.
- Thrives in working in self-managed teams, taking responsibility and working on a trust-based basis.
- Finds it exciting, natural and necessary to have a good and extended collaboration with parents.
- Is mature, self-aware and responsible for their own role and function.
We offer
An ambitious and academically strong special school with engaged colleagues, who work across professional groups, and around the child.
- A trust-based leadership, where all employees are involved relevantly and have equal value for the workplace, and are recognized.
- A workplace where we all are focused on creating a good and safe working environment, and although we are departmentally split, we work together about all the children.
- Opportunity to make a big difference in everyday life for children with special needs, and build a solid foundation that is about self-esteem, self-awareness, trust and well-being.
- A daily life characterized by meaningful challenges, high professionalism and humor.
The school currently has 142 pupils, 18 classes and three after-school departments. We are about 90 permanent staff. The school's leadership consists of School Principal, Deputy Principal, Department Head and SFO/ Club coordinators.
