Special educator sought for the Holistic Offering at Brøndagerskolen

Are you ready for an exciting challenge as a special educator? We are seeking a competent and engaged educator for our special school Brøndagerskolen in Albertslund Municipality. The position is 37 hours per week, starting from 1 November or as soon as possible.

About Brøndagerskolen

Brøndagerskolen is a special school for children and young people with autism spectrum disorders (ASF) under the Danish Education Act § 20(2). The student group spans a wide range in their development, and the school provides extensive specialized teaching, as well as specialized educational support. Our focus is on academic, social and personal development, and the school has students from 0th to 10th grade. The school is divided across two sites and uses cross-disciplinary competences to meet the individual needs of the students. This is integrated in both teaching and leisure activities.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are strong in your relational skills. You prioritize building relationships with students, colleagues and parents. Your ability to work in a structured and organized way is crucial, and you must have an eye for each child's resources and potential.

Experience with the target group is an advantage, but we also support you in becoming more proficient within ASF.

The school is in continuous development, and applicants must be able to think creatively and renew themselves both individually and as a team. We are seeking an educator who is ambitious on behalf of the children with an interest in children at an early developmental stage. The ability to grasp the children's initiatives and keep balance, even in challenging situations, is important.

Work at Brøndagerskolen can be emotionally demanding and involves close work with students with extensive needs for structure, predictability and regulation. It requires that you can remain calm, have overview and professional reflection in high-intensity situations.

The position is not necessarily the right match if you thrive best in work with a low degree of structure, very predictable tasks or limited emotional engagement.

The position includes both pedagogical work directly with the students, participation in team work and collaboration with parents and multidisciplinary partners. Preparation, documentation and reflection are a natural part of the task.

The staff participate continuously in competency development, including courses in Structured Visualized Special Pedagogy (SVS), Intensive Interaction and other relevant methods. We prioritize a structured and safe onboarding, where you are offered a mentor, gradual start and systematic follow-up during the probation period to support well-being, learning and a sustainable match.

Practical information

We hold ongoing recruitment interviews. They are mainly on Mondays 15.00-16.00. However final round interviews Monday 26.10. at 11.30-13.30.

The employment is conditional on satisfactory child and criminal record checks, as well as obtaining references.

Salary and terms of employment
