About the position

We are seeking a engaged pedagogue (pædagog) or pedagogical assistant for Special School Lolland with employment in SFO.

The position is 37 hours per week and will be distributed between SFO and school with approx. 1/3 time in SFO and approx. 2/3 time in the school.

You will become part of a tightly cooperating team with a high degree of influence on how we create the best framework for the children. There is close collaboration between school and SFO with a focus on coherence, recognisability and well-being for both children and adults.

Special School Lolland is facing an organizational change, and from the turn of the year our current four campuses will be merged into two campuses – dept. Nakskov and dept. Maribo.

We look forward to being consolidated, as it will further strengthen cohesion, create better opportunities for professional sparring and development, and ensure more uniform and stable frameworks for both children and staff.

You will work with children with special needs in both school and SFO settings. The task requires presence, clarity and the ability to create safe and trusting relationships. We work structurally and predictably based on each child's resources and potential. In the SFO we organize the children into smaller groups to create the best participation opportunities and strengthen their social skills.

  • Can maintain calm and overview – even in a changing everyday life
  • Work in an appreciative and mentalizing way in your approach to the children
  • Have good skills in conflict management
  • Can create and maintain strong relationships with children, colleagues and parents
  • Are clear in your communication and collaborate constructively across
  • Can contribute to meaningful activities in both school and SFO

Your professional competencies

  • Experience with special education from school and/or SFO
  • Familiarity with – or willingness to work with – Low Arousal, neuro-pedagogy and neuro-affective approaches
  • Good relationship skills and ability to create safe learning environments
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Interest in professional development and knowledge sharing

We offer

  • A position of 37 hours per week
  • A daily life characterized by high professionalism, collaboration and well-being
  • A meaningful job where you make a difference for children with special needs
  • A strong collegial community – also across the Special School Lolland's departments
