About the job

Some see a barn. You see opportunities for climate, environment and animal welfare.

New requirements for climate, environment and animal welfare call for new solutions in the cattle barn. At SEGES Innovation you are not just involved in following the development. You are involved in translating knowledge into barn concepts that work in practice.

You will become part of Health and Welfare, Cattle and will play a central professional role in the development of the cattle barns of the future. Together with colleagues and external partners you connect research, innovation and practice, so good ideas become usable solutions in Danish cattle farms.

This is what you will be working with

You will have the opportunity to shape a field in development and work across climate, environment, animal welfare and operations. Specifically you can look forward to:

  • develop and assess cattle barns with lower climate and environmental impact and high animal welfare
  • work with new concepts for housing cattle
  • assess the interplay between stall design, health, biosecurity, working environment, production, environment/climate and economy
  • contribute to testing and documentation of new solutions as well as remodeling of existing barns
  • participate in cross-disciplinary projects with farmers, advisors, researchers, companies and authorities
  • develop projects and applications and - depending on your experience - lead projects and development activities
  • translate new knowledge into recommendations, concepts, articles, presentations and other forms of communication.

Maybe you recognise yourself here?

You have experience from advisory, research, development, design or a company with relation to cattle production, barn construction or environmental and climate technology. The most important is that you have a strong professional foundation, are curious and want to create solutions that work in practice.

  • You have a relevant master's degree, e.g. in agronomy, agrobiology, animal science, environmental technology, building design or engineering
  • You are interested in cattle barns, climate, environment and animal welfare
  • You can analyse complex problems and translate knowledge into practical solutions
  • You work systematically and thrive in cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • You communicate confidently in Danish and English - both written and spoken.

It is an advantage if you have experience with e.g. barn design, emissions reduction, environmental/climate technology, animal welfare, experiments or project management. We do not expect you to know it all from the start.

A working life that fits life

For us, flexibility is about trust and freedom with responsibility. We believe people thrive best when there is room for both professional ambitions and life outside work.

You will become part of an engaged professional environment where we share knowledge, challenge existing solutions and help each other move forward. In addition, we offer attractive terms of employment with pension scheme, health insurance, good opportunities for competence development and an active staff association.
