About the job

Would you like to be part of an ambitious anesthesiology department, where high professionalism, development, and collaboration go hand in hand?

We are seeking a dedicated consultant in anesthesiology, where you will have the opportunity to work broadly within the specialty and at the same time actively contribute to the development of future patient care.

With us you will become part of a strong college of specialists who value professional sparring, interdisciplinary collaboration and a good working environment. We are a department with high ambitions for quality, education and innovation, and we are looking for a colleague who wants to make their mark on the continued development.

About the position

The position is primarily attached to the operating department, and a portion of the position will involve providing anesthesia for ECT treatment. The ECT treatment is based in Vordingborg.

You will join the department's on-call roster and perform shifts in both the operating room and the intensive care unit. The combination provides a varied day-to-day with great professional variation and ample opportunity to maintain and further develop your anesthesiology competencies.

The on-call team consists of two consultants and one on-call senior, which creates a close and well-functioning collaboration with strong collegial support and high professional quality.

About the department

The Anesthesiology Department is a department with clear ambitions to deliver treatment of the highest quality while prioritizing education, development and well-being. We work purposefully to create the best possible conditions for both patients and staff.

In the operating room, we anesthetize orthopedic, abdominal, gynecological and obstetric patients, both acute and elective, including day-surgery patients. Annually, around 5,600 anesthesias are performed in the operating department and about 1,500 anesthesias outside the operating department, including children and adults in connection with MR and CT examinations as well as ECT treatments.

The intensive care unit has seven beds and strong competencies in, among other things, ventilatory support, bronchoscopy, dilatation tracheostomy and transpulmonary pressure measurement. In addition, CRRT treatment is carried out independently in the department, and we continuously work on developing our treatment options and technological possibilities.

Our research unit is under development, so there is a unique opportunity to be a co-player in this. We welcome an interest in research and/or data-driven quality work.

We offer

  • An attractive position in a department with high professional ambitions.
  • An engaged and experienced consultant collegium with strong cohesion.
  • Opportunity to influence research and quality development, organization and professional initiatives.
  • Opportunity for special responsibilities and areas of interest depending on your competencies.
  • A strong multidisciplinary collaboration across departments and sites.
  • A flat and accessible management structure with a focus on involvement and influence.
  • Good opportunities for both professional and personal development.
  • A workplace where education, research and development are given high priority.

We are looking for a colleague who

  • Is a consultant in anesthesiology.
  • Has strong professional competencies and a high quality standard.
  • Thrives in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment.
  • Has an interest in teaching, mentoring and developing colleagues' competencies.
  • Wishes to actively contribute to the department's continued development.
  • Is curious, proactive and open to new solutions.
  • Has an interest in research and/or data-driven quality work.
  • Contributes positively to a good working environment and a culture characterized by collaboration, respect and integrity.

Applicants are assessed based on the seven medical professional competencies (the doctor roles). Therefore, the application should be structured based on these competencies.

Become part of a department where professional quality, development and community are the foundation of our work, and where you have the opportunity to make a real difference for both patients, colleagues and the organization.
