We are seeking an engaged specialist in psychiatry for the Department of Depression and Anxiety (ADA), Aarhus University Hospital, with primary affiliation to Ward 4, to commence on 1 December 2026 or by agreement.
The position is full-time. You will have your daily duties in Ward 4 and additionally participate in the specialist physician on-call team in adult psychiatry at AUH.
About the Department of Depression and Anxiety
The Department of Depression and Anxiety is one of three adult psychiatric departments at Aarhus University Hospital and consists of about 600 employees across four inpatient wards, five outpatient clinics, the Psychiatry House, and an active research unit. The department also provides ECT and TMS treatment.
We prioritize high professional quality, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient and relative involvement, and continuous development of our treatment offerings. There are good opportunities to engage in quality development, teaching and education.

Ward 4 is a protected inpatient ward with 24 beds that welcomes patients with complex psychiatric issues. The ward treats among other things patients with bipolar disorder, unipolar depression, schizoaffective states, late-onset psychosis, intellectual disability and organic conditions.
Ward 4 currently stands on a strong foundation after a targeted development effort. We are in the process of an ambitious clinical development program where competence development, supervision, de-escalation and a sustained focus on quality are central elements. The aim is to create even better patient paths, strengthen patient safety and develop a ward known for strong multidisciplinary collaboration and a good working environment.
As a specialist physician you will be a central professional key person with great opportunity to influence both daily patient care and the further professional development of the ward.
You will work closely with an interdisciplinary leadership team consisting of the Chief Physician, Chief Psychologist, Head Nurse and two academically strong deputy chiefs. We place emphasis on high professionalism, mutual respect and a culture where different professional perspectives contribute to joint solutions and ongoing development.
