Clinical psychologist for a 1-year temporary position in Ward 4, Department of Depression and Anxiety, AUH (re-advertised)

Who are we?

The Department of Depression and Anxiety is part of AUH Psychiatry and consists of four inpatient wards, the Psychiatry House and five outpatient clinics. The department has around 700 staff and provides assessment and treatment of patients including depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, personality disorders and other complex psychiatric conditions. Work is conducted with high professional quality, development, education and multidisciplinary collaboration across the department.

Ward 4 is a psychiatric inpatient ward with space for 27 patients. We treat patients with complex psychiatric issues, including mood disorders, schizoaffective states, dementia and late-onset psychosis in older patients. Patients may also have medical problems, which requires a broad and holistic approach to assessment and treatment.

The section is characterised by strong multidisciplinary collaboration and a sustained focus on professional development, quality and competency development. We work purposefully to strengthen the diagnostic and therapeutic professionalism and to create an environment where different professional disciplines are actively brought into play around the patient pathways.

The section is led by multidisciplinary management consisting of a chief physician, a chief psychologist and a chief nurse.

About the position

We are seeking a clinical psychologist for a 1-year temporary position who wishes to actively participate in both the clinical operations and the professional development of the department. You will play a central role in diagnostic and therapeutic work and become an important part of the multidisciplinary work around the patients.

The position includes, among other things, participation in ward rounds and treatment conferences, handling differential diagnostic assessments and psychological assessments as well as psychotherapeutic interventions where relevant.

As a clinical psychologist you will also contribute to supervision and teaching of staff, junior physicians and psychologists and help support the ongoing professional development of the department.

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Employment is conditioned by a satisfactory child and criminal background check and a satisfactory authorization.

The position is, as a rule, full-time.
