The position has been created directly as a result of the parties in the Municipal Council reaching an agreement on the budget for 2027 in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality and allocating extra funds to strengthen the efforts to improve water quality in Mølleåen. The funds shall strengthen work with the municipality's wastewater planning, discharge permits and the overall condition of the river. Should we separate sewers or upgrade the shared system in the sewer catchments? We shall implement the solutions in a new wastewater plan and set direction for our administrative framework. At the same time we must ensure discharge permits for all outlets in the municipality.

We need an employee with solid knowledge of the wastewater sector who can find solutions in the most challenging cases. We also have an exciting task with the transfer of road drainage pipes from the utility to the municipality and private road owners, as well as handling of decision cases.

  • Teamwork on issuing discharge permits
  • Professional and legal contributions to the investigation of the consequences of taking over road drainage pipes
  • Preparation of decision bases, agenda items and briefings to steering groups and the political level
  • Contributions to local planning
  • Responding to citizen inquiries.

About you

We imagine that you have solid experience and good competencies within the wastewater sector. It is an advantage if you have experience as an authority figure and are sharp at planning and making decisions according to the rules in the area.

We are looking for a colleague who can tick many of the points below

  • Writes and communicates well in Danish, i.e. concise, clear and understandable
  • Can present themselves professionally, constructively and approachable – both to citizens and to one another – with a focus on finding solutions. We hope that you want and have a talent for contributing to that culture,

About us

You will become part of the Climate and Utilities Department, where we are 12 employees. In the center we are about 110 employees distributed across five departments.

You will work with kind and capable colleagues who have solid experience in their areas and who prioritize a good working environment and a sense of community. We therefore meet across disciplines and social events with team-building activities, cake, breakfast, Friday bar and DHL relay for those who can and want to participate.

Leadership style is trust-based with focus on good dialogue and task solving, and we place great emphasis on cooperation and willingness to help in our department and across the municipality while ensuring there is room for a laugh in daily life.

We have an office in the beautiful, protected and newly restored town hall in Lyngby, close to both S-train, light rail and one of North Zealand's most charming town centres.
