Sprogcenter Vejle seeks 1-2 teachers for teaching Danish as a second language

Sprogcenter Vejle is a municipal language center that teaches adults Danish as a second language. Due to an influx of students, the language center is seeking teachers in Danish as a second language. This is for permanent positions. Expect both day and evening teaching, and possibly Saturday teaching.

About the job

Work includes teaching Danish as a second language, including Danish labor market and cultural conditions. There are also pedagogical-administrative tasks in the job. Teachers at the language center are organized in self-governing teams.

What we expect from you

You must have a qualification as a primary school teacher, cand.mag. or similar with a foreign language or Danish as a subject. You must also have completed or be in the process of completing the Danish as a second language program or be willing to start this as soon as possible after employment.

We want teachers who can join a professional community with a focus on a high professional level and continuous pedagogical development.

Insight into foreign cultures, intercultural and international relations, as well as a desire to help new citizens get a good start in their lives in Denmark, is a prerequisite.

Because the Language Center administers teaching spread across all Danish courses and modules at different locations and times, great flexibility is required.

Conditions of employment

Salary and employment according to applicable collective agreement and rules on new salary. The base salary is pension-free 38,400-46,800 after seniority (45,000-55,600 including pension). There may also be evening allowance etc.

About us

Language Center Vejle is a municipal language center that provides teaching in Danish as a second language for adult foreigners in Vejle and Give. The language center will in 2026 have about 1000 students and about 65 staff. Teaching takes place at the Language Center, Damhaven 13A in Vejle and Hjortsvangen 3 in Give.
