About the job

Are you passionate about the geriatric specialty with a focus on the multimorbid elderly patient – SSHA sought for the Ward of Geriatric Diseases G1

Our upcoming colleague

You can be newly graduated or more experienced with authorization as a Social- and Health Care Assistant, putting the patient at the center. In daily practice, this means you prioritise the geriatric core task, i.e. everything from nutrition, mobilization, early detection of critical illness and the good discharge.

You can engage in multidisciplinary collaboration with different professions, where work revolves around and with the patient and ensure to involve relatives, as they have important knowledge about the patient.

You thrive with many different tasks and are happy to step in if there is a need for extra hands – we are a team and lift together.

There may also be something you are particularly good at, which can inspire learning for the benefit of both colleagues and patients. In the same way, we of course also help you, especially at the beginning, so you get a secure start in the department.

Regardless of whether you are new or experienced in your career, we expect you to actively contribute to the daily clinical supervision of students/learners and in general contribute with good humour and positive energy.

A meaningful job in a department with trust and a focus on collaboration

In the Department of Geriatric Medicine G1, we work with respect and care in the caring for and treatment of the elderly patient. In addition to the general geriatric patient, we also receive patients over 65 years with hip fractures.

Together with the patient we work multidisciplinary to ensure the best possible admission process, where both patient and relatives are involved. To ensure a good discharge, we also have close collaboration with primary care, where social planning is a factor for a good discharge.

We place high importance on a good working environment and it is important that you and your colleagues thrive – we are always open to dialogue. Therefore you will also have influence on your own shift schedule, so your work life and private life fit together. You will work in rotating shifts and every 2nd weekend, but we are in a process where we want everyone to be able to work every 3rd weekend.

A good introduction and opportunity for further education

We focus on a developmental work community and you can look forward to

  • A good onboarding process, which takes its starting point from your level of experience and competences
  • A linked contact person who ensures you go well through your introduction – including bedside training.
  • Focus on skills development
  • Training in assigned patient care, where competences come into play and there is focus on multidisciplinary/interdepartmental collaboration
  • Participate in Geribasis 1 and 2
  • Participate in Skills station X 1 annually including simulation training
  • Visible leadership in daily life – if we sit in the office, the door is often open
  • An developing work community where everyone takes co-responsibility to raise the professional development in the ward – with a focus on the good patient journey and patient safety
  • Opportunity for further education within the geriatric specialty
