About the job
Join us in creating a home, presence and development in unique settings for children and youths at RendbjergFavn's Children and Youth Home
About us
RendbjergFavn is a self-governing institution and we offer various services pursuant to the Children’s Act and the Social Services Act, including respite care, day care and relief at home for children, youths and adults with physical or mental disabilities, such as ASD and ADHD.
With our approximately 110 employees at the locations in Egernsund, Gråsten and in the families’ homes, we offer high professionalism and specialized knowledge – always based on the individual’s needs and possibilities. Our environment is characterized by care, presence, safety and professionalism – values we both talk about and act upon.
Children and Youth Home
Our most important task is to create a safe, stable and meaningful everyday life – in their home. We are not just an institution but a place where the children and youths should feel seen, heard and supported. You will have the opportunity to help create everyday life filled with care and high professionalism, in collaboration with a fixed and engaged team.
We have a strong focus on building and maintaining safe, developmentally oriented relationships. You must be able to be present, responsible and with your heart in the right place. Do you want to help make a difference and be a part of their home, not just their everyday life?
The position is 32 hours per week with weekend work in even weeks.
Your tasks
- Daily pedagogical contact with six children and youths aged approximately 8–18 years, with a need for structure, clarity and predictability.
- Use of work tools and methods that support the children/youths’ needs.
- Participation in holidays and trips – as a natural part of being a secure adult in the children’s and youths’ lives.
- Preparation of diary notes, development plans, ICS and documentation in FSIII.
- Conflict de-escalation and handling of high and low arousal.
- Collaboration with colleagues, occupational safety representative, shop steward and management etc.
- Independent planning and administration of pedagogical practice.
We expect that you
- Are trained pedagogue, PAU, SSA or have other social professional experience
- Can work independently, in professional communities and demonstrate responsibility.
- Work in an appreciative, relational manner with a focus on the children’s and youths’ resources.
- Have knowledge of communicative aids, neuro-pedagogical methods and KRAP.
- Are prepared for variable working hours, evenings, every 2nd weekend in even weeks and public holidays.
- Can balance legal requirements and the written work that accompanies the tasks.
We offer
- A varied and meaningful everyday life with professional and personal development opportunities.
- An inspiring, open and inclusive working environment with engaged colleagues and a respectful and listening leadership.
- A broad range of professional groups to support you in your role – educators, aides, planners, nurses etc.
- Opportunity for professional sparring and competence development.
- Salary and employment in accordance with the nationwide collective agreement between Social Educators and Danish Employers’ Association.
- Special savings, discount agreements and health insurance.
We value humor and contributing with a smile – with respect and situational awareness.
