🌿 Staff sought for solo project

Do you want to make a difference for a young woman – and at the same time get a job where the relationship and the person are more important than fixed boxes and standard solutions?

We are looking for engaged employees for a solo project around a young, independent woman who is usually highly gifted and has autism, anxiety and massive PDA .

She is first and foremost a young woman with lots of interests, personality and resources. She has – like most of us – a backpack that shapes how she lives her life . She needs support, but also to be met as the independent person she is.

Who is she?

She is creative and enjoys, among other things,

• sewing and painting
• working with plants
• making ceramics and other creative projects
• cooking – and in fact she is really good at it
• delving into her interests

Cooking is a natural part of everyday life. She has previously handled cooking herself, which is a dream to be able to do again. At the moment it is really difficult for her, and she can only cook on a few days. Conflicts around food readily arise, as her sensory and eating disorder easily clash with her craving-avoidant behavior (PDA). Therefore it is important that you are self-sufficient in a kitchen, while also able to participate in collaboration with her when she is able to.

Your most important task

Your most important task is not to decide how things should be done .

It is to get to know her and figure out how she can best be supported .

You should therefore want to build a relationship and be curious about what works for her. You should be able to let go of the need for things to always be done in the way you would have done them yourself.

Because of her PDA, ordinary demands and expectations can be experienced very differently by her than by most people. Therefore it is important that you can be flexible, calm and creative in your approach.

Some days you will be active together with her. On other days your main task may simply be to be there and create a sense of security.

Working hours and shifts

These are long shifts of about 12–16 hours .

The shifts will primarily have a change morning and evening , as the work around her also requires awake night shifts . Which are also sought

She is clearly a night owl, and the night can be a time when anxiety is particularly activated. Therefore it is important that you are prepared for a part of the work to also consist of staying awake and present at night and creating security when the need arises.

Therefore you must be prepared that working hours can be different from a normal 8–16 job.

You will become part of a team

Although you will often work alone with her , you are not alone.

You will become part of a team of colleagues where it is you together who form the support she needs .

We emphasize helping each other. If a colleague becomes ill or for other reasons cannot come to work, we expect that you as a natural part of the team can step in when possible.

That does not mean you are available all the time. It means that we help each other make everyday life work, and that changes in shifts and needs naturally happen in dialogue with the other colleagues .

We therefore seek employees who can both work independently and at the same time be a good team player.

We are looking for you who

• is a woman or a man
• 30 years and preferably beyond
• has experience working alone and independently
• is calm, patient and inclusive
• wants to get to know another person really
• can meet her on her premises
• can be flexible and think alternatives
• does not need things to always be done “your way”
• can handle that plans sometimes must be changed
• preferably has experience with autism, PDA and/or anxiety – but the most important is your approach to the person
• can work long shifts and participate in awake night shifts
• has a driving license
• would like to work on yourself and develop your professional role if you feel affected by something through supervision and professional sparring

You must also be able to handle both dogs and cats , as both are part of the home. At times it will also be part of your duties to help with the animals.

Where does the work take place?

Currently the work takes place in Albertslund , where the woman has temporarily moved back to her parents. But this is only a temporary solution.

Once we have jointly built up a solid, stable and engaged personal team around her , she will move to her own home in the outskirts of Lejre . The home is already almost furnished and waiting for her.

Therefore your future workplace will be in Lejre, and a car of your own will be a clear advantage for transport to and from work. The woman herself has a car available, which can be used for relevant activities and accompaniment – where you are the driver.

An unconventional job

This is not a traditional care job.

We do not necessarily seek the person with the longest CV or the most courses. We seek you, who can see the person before the diagnoses .

You who can be with a young woman without constantly having to fill the silence.

You who can be curious without being clingy. You who can support without taking over.

And you who can accept that the best solution sometimes is the one she herself finds .

Starting salary for employees covered by collective agreement

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told the base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.

About Else Hus

Else Hus is a regional day and residential facility for adults with intellectual disabilities and autism.

A common feature for the residents at Else Hus is that they need help and support for all functions, as well as a recognizable and predictable everyday life that is arranged according to each person’s resources and needs.

Else Hus is located in Karlslunde and comprises three independent residential units with space for 6 residents in each house, our day service, which is used by all our residents, as well as two special arrangements located in Lejre.
