About the job
Stensagerskolen seeks a pedagogical leader!
Would you like to help create a solid foundation and good frameworks for the children’s learning and well-being at a special school with a culture characterized by diversity and differentiated teaching? Stensagerskolen seeks a clear, reliable and holistic leader – preferably with competencies and experience in the special education field as well as a strong desire to lead.
About the school
Stensagerskolen is a highly specialized school for a broad group of students with severe physical and/or mental disabilities. We focus on learning, community and quality of life and teach students from kindergarten up to and including tenth grade. The after-school program is extended to include up to 7th grade and is integrated with the school in a holistic offering. We have about 320 students at the school and about 180 students in SFO.
There are a little over 260 employees, making it Aarhus Municipality’s largest school by number of staff and one of the country’s largest special schools. The school is housed on two sites, in Brabrand and Viby.
Stensagerskolen’s vision is to be the best possible school for the children who are referred to us. We work from a broad concept of learning to ensure development for all of the school’s students relative to each individual student’s potentials and development possibilities. We work with a wide range of evidence-based methods, documentation forms and tools for children and young people with special needs.
The academic environment is diverse and specialized. We have hired teachers, pedagogues, pedagogy assistants, speech therapists, physiotherapists, a music therapist, an educational IT advisor and an educational consultant. We have engaged and professionally competent staff, high professional ambitions and a broad cross-disciplinary collaboration.
About the job
We offer an exciting position at a well-run school in development, where the child’s perspective is at the center. You will become part of a leadership team consisting of the head of the school, deputy head, five pedagogical leaders and in collaboration with the administrative leader.
We place emphasis on open dialogue, inclusive processes, professionalism and an informal atmosphere. You will join a leadership team in development, and it is important that you are willing to openly engage in this process.

In each team there are teachers, pedagogues and pedagogy assistants who work closely together around a class with a maximum of nine students. The number of teams varies from year to year for the individual pedagogical leader, and you will be responsible for a minimum of 35 staff members.
Your leadership tasks span a broad range and include strategic, pedagogical and operational responsibilities. Among the concrete tasks are:
- Pedagogical sparring and implementation of Wider Child Communities , the school’s pedagogical vision and academic foundation
- Planning for the new school year and ongoing resource allocation
- Occupational safety lead for the clusters
- Conducting sick leave meetings and MUS (employee development conversations)
As a pedagogical leader you also undertake tasks across the entire school.
