About the job
Would you like to help create a safe and active everyday life for a 17-year-old girl with special needs? We are looking for an employee who can combine care, personal hygiene and near-presence in the family's home.
About the task
You will become part of a team around a 17-year-old girl who has Rett syndrome and needs support for daily tasks, communication and activities.
The girl loves watching Teletubbies and Bamse and Kylling, bouncing on a trampoline and going on trips. She also enjoys walks and excursions in the family's disability car. She has the ability to walk but needs support when she walks, and uses a wheelchair on longer trips. She communicates with the help of an eye-tracking computer, and it is important that you give her plenty of time to respond and express herself.
Your task will be to support the girl in her daily routines and create a safe framework around her. You help with personal care, toilet visits, dressing and meals. In addition, you will handle tasks related to feeding tube, medication, fluids and CPAP. You will receive training at home so you are equipped for the tasks.
A part of the job also includes accompanying the girl to riding physiotherapy and physiotherapeutic training, as well as participating in activities based on her interests. The aim of the effort is also to relieve the family in daily life.
There is an overhead lift available in the home, where a small dog also lives.
About you
We are looking for someone who is trained as a social and health care assistant, a social and health care helper or has relevant experience as an unskilled worker.
The most important is that you are good at building a safe relationship and meet the girl with calm, patience and clear communication. You understand the importance of giving time for reactions and telling what will happen, so she experiences predictability in daily life.
You are prepared to handle personal care and health-related tasks after training and thrive with both practical tasks and close companionship.
It is a requirement that you have a driver's license and can drive the family’s disability car, as driving is part of the task.
Working hours
You will become part of a team that together covers the below shift plan, and you should expect to work 10-25 hours per week.
Full-day shifts
- Monday and Friday from 06:45 to 19:00.
Morning shifts
- Tuesday to Thursday from 06:45 to 09:45.
Afternoon shifts
- Tuesday to Thursday from 15:00 to 19:00.
Weekend shifts
- Odd weeks: 24-hour shifts from Friday to Sunday with shift change at 19:30.
- Even weeks: Sunday 08:00-11:00 and 15:00-19:30.
The concrete shift plan is arranged in collaboration with the team.
We offer
You will become part of a family-owned company with many dedicated employees. You have a fixed advisor whom you can always get sparring from. Outside office hours there is always a staffed emergency phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the National Agreement concluded between FOA and Dansk Erhverv.
